Based on where I am parked these days, I'm pretty sure the days are numbered for mine as eventually a critter is going to find it. I hope not though, I always thought it was a cool touch of originality.

So long lead in here for a question and geared more for the EV owners on the forum. I road tripped from Lancaster PA to E. Lansing MI for daughter’s archery. We took my Accord as it was 8-1/2 hours driving and a 1 hour stop for eating and potty breaks. I know our new Lexus and almost all EV’s have charging and can route plan but has anyone/any manufacturer offered a route planner that looks at times, assumes lunch/dinner times and calculates stops for charging with meal time to make the best use of charging stops. Like-hey, here are 5 chargers within 2 miles of your route that are also with 600 feet of a restaurant/food source and not just a charger stop. Teaming up with chain and/or local restaurants (my preferred choice) would be a better way to help trace with EVs. Could even offer EV charger ONLY and…. EV and Eat combos to help with the trip planning. Just a thought but maybe this already exists. I know I can route plan for EV charge, ballpark my stop then go on Google Maps and search restaurants near by but one stop shop would be a convenient feature if not already happening

I don't know of any routing algorithm that specifically optimizes for stopping at mealtime (you'd have to tell it what time you eat each meal as everyone is different). In the Tesla, you can click (err touch) any supercharger and it will tell you what amenities are nearby. Plus you can always override the car's chosen charger and it will tell you if it can' t make it to the one you selected.

As for partnering. Not sure where you live but Bucee's is a hugely popular gas station/eatery/road trip destination in its own right around here. They are putting Superchargers at their locations so people can shop and eat while charging. I expect more of this to happen in the future.

As others have said I would want the features that I have had on other cars that are either deal breakers or hard for me to pass on:

• Ventilated seats (Desert) and heated just back with full seat (Only seen on Caddies so far basically 3 switches instead of 2)
• Heads up Display (Helps to keep eyes on road, most useful when using Nav)
• More Towing 5k with harvester is deal breaker for SUV that big (I was wanting 7-8k and only interested in a harvester or hybrid solution not full EV.
• Built in Nav (My Sprinter Van only has car play, I miss options) Non subscription, I mostly use it when no phone signal in my Bronco, and in place I didn't plan to go so didn't pre download maps.
• Good Sound insulation (Wife complains can't hear radio in bronco because of tire and wind noise, so hoping next car (hers) will be quiest to make her happy but still off roadable as we retired and travel alot.

Those are main ones, I think rest of stuff I assume it has already?

No Bucee’s in PA yet but I was thinking more on the line of restaurants-not just “BRISKET ON THE BOARDDDDD! Something like Cracker Barrel’s or even local’s spots where we can sit for 20-30 minutes and eat a meal. As for timing the general algorithm could be 8-9, 11:30-12:30(or 12-1) and maybe 5-6. Then maybe user input allows you to add or subtract up to 30-60 minutes so you can get more in sync with individual needs
Sounds like some of these things are already in play, was just thinking options beyond gas station food or truck stop Subways and McD’s. Thinking like Wanda’s Waffles and grub or Paul’s pastrami house. Rather support local than chains

So over the weekend my daughter was at collegiate nationals for archery and she shoots for Texas A &M and someone joked that all their cheers sound just like the way Buc-ee’s yell the brisket and since founder was A&M grad we (along with some of the team) were wondering if he just carried it over . IYKYK but was very funny. Kids were seriously thinking about it

One thing about Buc-ee's that many people aren't aware of: You have to eat in your car. There is no seating. If you're looking for a break from sitting in your car, it's probably not the place.

Good list, even though none of those would be must haves for me, I like how you gave good reasons for each option for you.
FYI, in the Ioniq5, which is EV only, the car is so quiet and smooth riding, it is a completely different experience from an internal combustion car.

That is true. I can't imagine how much bigger some of those places would have to be to accommodate seating too!

And that is my biggest gripe with Buc-ee’s. How the hell do you eat a brisket sandwich in your car (I know you CAN-but what a pain). Jerky-sure, but greasy/juicy meat-ehhhh!

This could be an actual good use of AI integration. When traveling and you need a stop in the next say 70 miles for charging, food, bathroom, stretch legs, whatever, to have the car find for you along the route something that has all your needs in one stop.
Right now on road trips, either my human navigator does the stop decided, most often a coffee shop or a gas station, or I wing it based on the signs I can see from the highway. Having the amenties at each upcoming exit or major intersection shown on the in dash navigation would be a feature that I would regret to admit is useful.
