Now a couple from the Trail- Ready Traveler. The bench seat has made an appearance in the Traveler for the first time at this event!
The floor was actually all wood blocks. It was killer lookingThat brick floor in the empty space beyond sure looks stunning!
In your last picture of the Mountainside, the wood grain looks like Realtree camo from this distance. Better than the OSB look I guess.
At one point I looked over to the empty area and a little girl in a pink dress was just sitting there looking away and I still think it would have been an award winning photo-was such a surreal image to see. Especially with the giant warehouse windows beyond. That said it did make it tough for camera lightingThat brick floor in the empty space beyond sure looks stunning!

Yeah-I’m guessing I took maybe 150-160 total but tried to just cover things I wanted to share.8-900!? Wow. I go to Charleston for 4 days and I think I took 1 (and that was a quick texting pic.) Then again, they know me and my "abilities." My best friend wanted pictures of his event but gave his camera to my wife. He knows...
It was originally done so if things damaged the floor in a given area they could simply pull the blocks and replace them. Unique space. The aerial shots I got inside were outside of second floor bathrooms which were just raised, modified shipping containers. Was cool!I wonder if the wood was better for the Ford employees feet when it was previously open for production lines.
Answered before I saw your post. And your statement is exactly what I was told in the facilityApparently, end grain flooring was popular in old industrial buildings where they could be very thick (a few inches). From Reddit, it seems like the advantages were they could handle extremely heavy loads, they would soak up oil and not be slippery, they were more forgiving to falling objects, and individual pieces are easy to replace,
Without architecture, cars would look bland-and the scout design team wouldn’t be where they are todaySee, there is a benefit to us always derailing threads!!
Hidden fasteners of course!I'm still holding out for the TREX editionComposite cladding instead of OSB.
Also wondering if the factory tires will be foamed or not. I know Tesla does that and adds quite a bit of cost so should be interesting. Fortunately our RZ just has regularSeems like 35s on R22 wheels is a lot of tire for the less aggressive Mountainside version. I'm still wondering what it would look like with 33"s. My officemate just got her R2 with 32"s on R21 wheels. The Scout is more like the R1S (size-wise) so maybe the 33"s would just look too small. I wonder what wheels/tires the SM mileage predictions we currently have take into account.

You identified my concerns with the 33s exactly! Will they look too small? My tires on my Silverado Trail Boss looked ridiculous. Personally, I love the 35" and 22" rim. I have a 22" rim on my Rivian and like the look, but there's a little too little sidewall for the curb checks, if you know what I mean. Not that I ever hit the curb. I'm just talking hypothetically, you know?Seems like 35s on R22 wheels is a lot of tire for the less aggressive Mountainside version. I'm still wondering what it would look like with 33"s. This has been my favorite interior so far. I love the two tone interior look, not necessarily these colors but a two tone interior is it for me. I also like the fabric on the doors and dash instead of the wood. I think the wood choices have been too busy for my liking and I currently have the dark wood in my Rivian so a texture change will be a nice change. Now a couple from the Trail- Ready Traveler. To date, the fabric panels appeal the most to me. Sure hope launch has a wood or fabric combination I LOVE, otherwise it could be my one compromiseThis has been my favorite interior so far. We still have a wooden street in Cleveland! Much quieter when horses were the mode of transportation. 19,000 blocks and originally treated with creosote.Apparently, end grain flooring was popular in old industrial buildings where they could be very thick (a few inches). Gotta love creosote. Always wonder what seeps I. The ground from that stuff. Works great but imagine the environment pays a priceWe still have a wooden street in Cleveland! Much quieter when horses were the mode of transportation. 19,000 blocks and originally treated with creosote.

Our main river caught on fire a few times, so a little creosote was the least of our problems!Gotta love creosote. Always wonder what seeps I. The ground from that stuff. Works great but imagine the environment pays a price
