Off-topic stuff…

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Moose photo time?

Perfect!

(I've only seen one here, and it was startled out of the woods near a youth camp/group thing. Some kid peed' in the woods by the edge of the lake, and it came busting out and ran right through the middle of the group... of maybe 20-30 of us?).

You can see how close it was to people in the un-cropped photo here.

North Cascade National Park, Diablo lake.

It’s in northwestern Washington, northeast of Seattle by 3hrs or so, or a bit south, mostly west from Bellingham.

They’re incredibly rare in Washington, west of the cascades. So we were super surprised to see one.

Off topic/on topic. I just realized tonight how many Scout employees are now listed on the forum so here’s a big F’ing WELCOME! And a big thank you to all your dedicated work to bring these amazing works of engineering beauty to life for all of us hanging on for the ride. Thanks again!
And Happy Father’s Day to all the gents who also wrangle kids outside of this crazy adventure. We realize the women do most of the work but you deserve a little credit at least one day a year. 😀

This race used to be more interesting before they paved the road.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I go up to Jackman occasionally and head north from there on logging roads. In the winter, I'm usually the only enclosed vehicle, surrounded by snow machines. Those trips were a factor in my Harvester decision.
Yup. This is Canada Falls Lake. We hit Rockwood (phone our families goodbye) and head up 20 Mile Road to get into the North Maine Woods. Hours on logging roads to nowhere. It's a long hike out if you forgot a jump pack or generator. Of course, if our logging road bridges get any worse, I wouldn't want to walk across them, let alone take a new Scout.

Wow, certainly faster than when I hiked up or took the cog train. :)
