  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

My mom had a 70s Cadillac that needed to go. She traded it for haircuts for my brother. The guy cut the top off. Painted it white with black spots, giant bull horns on the hood and a horn that mooed. Anything can have the top removed if you work hard enough. 😹
Again, like that old realtor commercial-any closet is a walk-in if you try hard enough!

And now, for your regularly-scheduled thread derailment, I bring to you the following...

I want it upfront because I’d like to have a unique “launch” edition but if it is missing things I want I will wait. Doesn’t have to be perfect but has to suit me with the amount of time I’ve been waiting this far
Won't the "Launch" edition be fully loaded?

I want a bench seat and cabana roof…right now Terra vs traveler and BEV vs harvester is truly undecided…but give me my bench seat and cabana roof—the rest doesn’t matter :)

🤷‍♀️. My concern if it is then it will push it too far over that $60k starting price and people could be very upset.
I presume a launch edition is coming first, and that the price won't be the $60k price.

Of course, this is just conjecture. But it is how the recent releases seem to go. Launch editions tend to be fancier/higher trim (looking at the R2 launch, and Cybertruck launches as examples).

As long as the $60k version has a upcoming release, I don't think "too" many people will get their pitchforks out, assuming the timeframe isn't super far away, and is clearly communicated.

Could be wrong though :).

I been thinking about this lately and I am preferring

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle first first priority
Right to Repair second first priority
Safety third first priorty

So yeah safety first, but when I write the fine print, Safety third first.

edit: did a quick google search and safety third is a thing. I knew I had heard the phrase, but I did not realize it was associated with Mike Rowe. Here is a good rundown on the concept: https://www.army.mil/article/266448/safety_third_an_army_context
