We bought a mach-e a year and a half ago and immediately loved having an ev. Our Civic hybrid is almost 13 years old now and I’ve long wanted to replace it with an off-road suv now that we have practicality covered with the Mustang (never thought I’d put those two words in the same sentence!). When my wife said you know, I kinda like the Bronco I think I got whiplash from how fast I looked around
.
I was heavily considering a Bronco, or more distantly a Wrangler (I prefer the looks of the Bronco, especially the Stroppe, but haven’t ever driven either so who knows where I’d have gone), but really wanted it to be electric. However with the Mustang payment and having gotten new carpet recently we don’t have $$ for a big car payment right now anyway. So I started poking around for electric off-road suvs and fairly quickly found the Scout and thought yep. Except for the headlight design it ticks every box, and I can live with the headlight design. I put in a reservation, mocked up an r2-d2 inspired paint job in photoshop* and here I am. I considered a used wrangler for awhile but decided spending more money right now is not the best use of resources, it would leave me with nothing to fritter away
*be fun to make the paint job a reality as I want something highly unique…it’ll depend on $$$ and factory options - I can start with a white one and if they can do rallye stripes in the right blue, then it’s a matter of painting the pillars and roof and a few other things like the side mirrors, rather than the whole vehicle.
