I will eventually do the bedliner but for now it's good! Not gonna rust no more! HopefullyLike night and day!
What product did you use, also adding sound deadening?I still need to do another coat but here is a before and after! View attachment 15954View attachment 15955View attachment 15956View attachment 15957
I used POR15. I’ll eventually spray a bed liner, but it probably won’t be for a while, so I did this in the meantime. No sound deadening. I’m not planning on putting in carpet or the vinyl rubber floor. Maybe one day. This is my work Scout lol. What product did you use, also adding sound deadening?
Makes sense, I'm about to tackle the same project on my 800 and yours turned out great. I might be dead next week as I was a little too close to using paint remover and pressure washing near out flower/garden bed- cause of death will either come from my spouse or chemical ingestion.I used POR15. I used my grinder with a wire blade to prep the surface. Looking back, there are definitely certain areas I should have gone over more, but hopefully the second coat will hide it. It’s a beater Scout, so I’m not too worried about it. Everyone always tells me prep is everything. POR15 is pretty thin, so I would just recommend checking for runs. Not yet.Did you do the underside as well?
Do you even need to do the underside in California. There’s no road salt. Not yet.
Not where I am. We hardly get rain (besides this year lol) it’s a really dry climate here in the valley. I’ll throw a cover on during the winter.Do you even need to do the underside in California. There’s no road salt.

Replaced the liftgate struts with hydraulics and would highly recommend it. Also got the paint prepped as best as I could. She may not be the prettiest Scout out there, but she’s definitely gonna be a cool one. Interior goes in tomorrow, then it’s time for some sweet patina sauce. She’s coming together better than I imagined and will be cruising the streets real soon!

The door is not closed. I left it open to take the photo. The door gaps on this Scout aren’t that bad. But I have seen some crazy door gaps on Scouts before. LolGotta ask, is driver’s door just not closed tight or is that the current gap at the latch side of the door?
Great to hear. I’ve never seen one that bad -had that been the gap rather than door open, but glad to know it is a tighter gap-you have dryer weather but the air noise would be terribleThe door is not closed.
