Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Rivian let YT reviewers and other influencers move to the front of the line. Get off the forum and get out there raising your YT cred…
This is innacurate. Some influencers (Sandy Monroe comes to mind) had early reservations, and got early deliveries. Others had test vehicles or went to events were they used Rivian trucks. Saying Rivian just let all the YT reviewers go to the front of the line is false. YT influencers ain't all that.

I should have phrased what I said differently. They have cars that go to reviewers and there will be an embargo and everyone gets to release their reviews after the embargo. So press cars is what I was talking about.

…saying I said Rivian just let all the YT reviewers go to the front of the line is false. Don’t do that…

Yes Out if Spec and a few others did get early vehicles without early reservations. Out of Spec took much grief for it…and pushed back at their viewers for it, too…

Which is fair, but if scout came to me and said “we can get you the BEV Terra early, but you don’t get many/any options for it” I’d certainly be very tempted, as I do legitimately plan to start up a second channel around it and my adventures so

If I were Scout I would ignore every request from the super-diluted pool of YT influencers and send my first production test vehicle directly to Edmunds for testing.

YT influencers exist for one reason. Great if you want to support someone and that sort of "entertainment" - click away... But just look at how many people on this forum alone have complained about misinformation and bizarre statements made about batteries and the Harvester (amongst a myriad of other things).

RivianTrackr mentioned something that Rivian could potentially do the same thing again with R2. Current R1 owners are going to be given an option to "early" first availability pre-configurator made vehicles, which is apparently exactly what Jose is going to do to get one as early as possible to make his content with.

Many of the influencers at the reveal spent more time taking advantage of all the perks and freebies. Those of us from the forum that went, and literally met for the first time spent more time covering the Scouts and talking about them. I really like @R1TVT ’s thought. I go back and forth on whether I’d include the OG Scout owners (like the 3 or 4 well known just for the fair and honest take. They had them at the reveal-would be curious to get their final take aways too

When I went and test drove an R1S last year that was part of the sales pitch. Lease one so you get an R2 sooner.
