The Supra maybe an ICE but it’s the same way. Now the Wrangler the speedometer stops at 100. Anything over 80 is kinda terrifying in that car.It is unnervingly easy to hit 100 mph without meaning to in both the Lightning and the Mustang. There's no engine screaming in protest.
Hey do EVs have limiters like ICE do? The Supra is limited to 155.It is unnervingly easy to hit 100 mph without meaning to in both the Lightning and the Mustang. There's no engine screaming in protest.
They can. Depends on the manufacturer, maybe on laws, but I'm not familiar with the details.Hey do EVs have limiters like ICE do? The Supra is limited to 155.
Typical California. My gas prices only rose .25 cents. My best friend had to drive to Bakersfield, California for work today and just sent this. This is nuts!

Limiter won’t last on mine. I’ll have it unlocked in a day after purchase.Hey do EVs have limiters like ICE do? The Supra is limited to 155.
Sucks for people with ICE ILO hybrids and EV’sMy best friend had to drive to Bakersfield, California for work today and just sent this. This is nuts!

I’ve done 124 in a tuned sport sedan and it got to the point the pucker factor kicked in and I eased back. Had my old scout up to over 90 once racing a Porsche on a highway when I was 16 and dumber then I am today. He slowed down, stuck his arm out and gave me a thumbs up. Was my best driving experience ever. With the new traveler I can see 90 but I don’t think I’d have the nerve to take it to 124 mph even if a limiter allowed me toThe Supra maybe an ICE but it’s the same way. I bet your head barely fit through the door when you got home! LolI’ve done 124 in a tuned sport sedan and it got to the point the pucker factor kicked in and I eased back. Lot of work but that would be a cool build conversion to show off. Sounds like 130 is the less than common sense, cut off point for people with common senseI bet your head barely fit through the door when you got home! Lol
Sounds like an epic day.
I had an upgraded turbo, clutch, exhaust, and tune on my 2015 Passat TDI. It would make the Stage 2 clutch (rated for 400ft-lbs) slip on occasion. Also ran oversized H rated tires.
Was doing pulls with some rando in a Veloster one day. I think 130 was the number I saw before we backed down. It was still pulling but I think we both got spooked after a cop materialized in the distance.
My Husqvarna Norden 901 would also top out at 127 before hitting the rev limiter. Which is already a little hairy on knobby tires…
I believe the KTM 1390 SAR I want is limited to 155mph due to its knobbies. I am not sure if I want to find out though…
I’ve honestly been thinking about adding a diesel to the Lexus instead of building the 4.7 2UZ V8 to increase my range at the expense of higher horsepower.
Diesel Toys offers the 2.8L 1GD swaps with a 6 speed manual for around $40k. With dual tanks I could go 1,100 miles on a single fill up. They make more torque than the previous 4.5L twin turbo V8 diesels and I would see around 20-22mpg even with portals and 37”s.
They specialize in OEM swaps for Toyotas and Lexus vehicles and come with an 18 month warranty.
Would be a “last car I ever own” situation if I went that route though.
That’s terrible.Well, today was a bummer of a day. Early in the year I ordered new suspension components for the Mustang to upgrade the suspension. It’s got almost 60k miles on it, we live on a washboard gravel road, and the stock suspension is pretty harsh. So I figured I’d give the Mustang a little bit longer springs and some new shocks/struts.
Well, the boxes arrived over the course of two months and I was too busy to stop and take a look at the components.
Then a series of family emergencies came up and I couldn’t touch the stuff until today.
I opened the boxes and thought to myself, “self, you really should compare the tags on the actual components before you start taking things apart.” I never listen to myself, so I didn’t do that.
After taking off the passenger rear spring and shock, I compared the new spring with the old. It’s not even close to right.
The spring on the left is from the Mustang. The spring on the right is for a Super Duty F-250.
So I had to put it all back together with no better suspension.
I’m pretty bummed.

The mechanic in me wants me to take those and put those on the mach e. And to give it some crazy bfg ko3s for you. But its probably not efficient for an EV.Well, today was a bummer of a day. Set up for the Mad Max sequel? And I love Grabber blue but you’d have to rattle can it in matte black or a dessert tan since you are in desert countryThe mechanic in me wants me to take those and put those on the mach e. I’m certain there’s no way to get them in without increasing the lengths of some of the control arms. I considered cutting them down to fit, but the turn radius is such that I would also have to fabricate some new seats. The mechanic in me wants me to take those and put those on the mach e.
