Off-topic stuff…

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Okay how cold is everyone today. They said -30 to -40, but it’s not nearly as bad. Only -19!

They are predicting 5-6” of snow here in mid-missouri. No ice but lots of cold. It was 14F when I went to the bus barn this morning and now at home it’s 5F. The cold is less of a problem than the wind in my mind. We don’t have too many problems with power outages but it does happen. If so I have my 24 hours of backup.

I'm in the 8-12" or 12-16" I'm on a fine line. between different outcomes.

I turned on the AC this morning - life in S. Texas. House got hot yesterday and did not dip last night (and honestly, it was because the AC system needed to circulate air, probably only my west facing bedroom was hot as we are holding at about 70 now). Temps should start dropping tonight - but will not dip below freezing until basically early Sunday morning. Will start feeding shortly - as we have a ton of humidity (it is still foggy right now), so we should start getting needed rain as soon as these temps start to fall. The bulk feeding will be easier before the rain.

Meanwhile, in the PNW... its dry. Unseasonably dry. Like, its been sunny and dry for over a week now (0.01in of rain in the past week according to my acuweather weather station). And unseasonably warm (highs in the mid 50's).

Looks like this week is cooler, but the temps are closer to normal for January, but the dry... is not.

Good luck out there everyone :).

we're at 52 right now, heading for 27 overnight. The snow/ice starts tomorrow night (still saying 2 inches of snow and 1 inch of freezing rain) and we're supposed to be down to 7 overnight on Monday. I've got my fingers crossed for our power for sure

Up to a balmy -27F degrees right now (from -33F on the rock). I have seen -28F on my infotainment screen, but never with wind gusts to 107MPH, like on the summit of Mt Washington right now.

Nothing quite like a -90 windchill in the AM to wake you up. It already warmed up 5 degrees and the windchill is now only -75!

Man that's crazy! How often do you get that kind of weather?!
