Travelall 3 Row

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Scott was asked directly asked about the Travelall being their third vehicle in the Scout lineup and he did everything but say yes.
Someone posted the timestamp around when it was asked and the video towards beginning of the thread.
Ah, yes. I knew about that, but thought maybe some other announcement had been made. It makes total sense. But, Scout should take notice that the small and compact SUV market is booming.

The Rivian R2 would be far more likely to capture those Rav 4 sales than a Scout would..
That is what I mean. Scout really needs to look at a smaller version. In my opinion, maybe they should do the smaller one before the 3 row. I suspect that it will be easier to do the three row based on existing architecture and that is why it will be first. I agree the R2 will compete well in the smaller size class.

That sounds like it would contradict Scouts "Rugged offroad focused design" philosophy.

If they use the Terra platform it would be pretty easy to slide the frame under a longer body like you mentioned.

There isnt much of an appetite for 2 door SUVs in America. If they slimmed down the 4 door Traveler and made it road focused I would cancel in a heartbeat. No thanks.

I guess I am not making any sense. I agree with you. I know a lot of people want a 2 door, but that market is really small. This is what I think will happen. I think that Scout will take the Terra wheelbase and put a 3 row Travelall on top. I think that Scout should look at a vehicle that is the size of the Rivian R2 as the next vehicle after the Travelall. I hope that the smaller version will be the size of older 4Runner, Cherokee, Pathfinder, etc.

As a side note I saw a Fisker Ocean Saturday night on the highway. What a shame for them because in person it was a great looking vehicle and size would be ideal for that smaller SUV market though it felt a bit bigger than a RAV4 it definitely would slot below the Traveler
Truly a shame.

They apparently fumbled the software really badly and that was the death knell to their company.

Fisker has made many missteps in his attempts to start his own car company; he’s bankrupted two car companies so far. He’s just not a good CEO. IMO, he needs to go back to the drawing board, literally, and stick to what he’s good at: designing cars.

Fisker rushed them out before they were ready because they needed money. With financial backing the outcome might have been different, but the odds were stacked against them. There's no faster way to lose money than starting a car company. I'm curious to see how long VinFast lasts. Their owner keeps pumping money into them.

Glad you clarified as I was gonna amend your first “company” to COMANIES 🤣

The Traveler already has the same wheelbase as the Tahoe - which already has 3 rows of seating as an option. The main difference between the 2 is that the Traveler is bobbed shorter w/o the spare tire. A Travelall would probably be less off-road oriented. Other than the space for the Harvester-it would not be hard to stretch the Traveler behind the rear axle a few inches and put in a third row.

You’ve also got the extended length of the Terra already too so that makes it very plausible without a tone of frame/platform/skateboard mods
