Built-in hydraulic or electric jacks

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
And I still have all my limbs and digits! ?

I'm trying to figure out if this is a statement or a question! :ROFLMAO:

I've had good luck with electric trailer jacks, so I can definitely see the appeal of the OPs idea. Instead of building four in, maybe pre-wire four outlets near four recessed, reinforced pockets in the frame and provide one jack that inserts into one of those pockets. If someone wanted to buy four jacks from Scout, they'd be happy to sell you more. It'd certainly make rotating my tires in the driveway much easier, but I'd probably stick with my generic floor jack.

Generic floor jack is good for home but if I'm driving at 10pm and get a flat I want to change my tire quickly. Since it's 2025 and we have a spaceship that will get to Mars in the next couple years there's no reason I can't just press a button to jack my car up and change my flat quickly. How much could that cost? I do like the that Scout has a real spare tire. I don't see that in a lot of EVs today

Welcome to the community! And yay another member to team full size spare! I go one step further, I’m team full size spare in the tire carrier on the back of the Traveler, but that opens up a whole can of worms.

Welcome again!

Basically, and b/c you have a battery pack running across the bottom of the truck, you have very specific jack points. You do not want to damage the battery pack (even with underbody protection). I have a set of jack-pucks in my truck that fit into the jack points, but in reality, most service centers have them already (and have had them for a long time for Teslas). I like having a full set in the truck "just in case" and in case you ever need service from someplace that didn't have them on hand (and I have a full sized spare under the bed). These are what I have: https://jackpucks.com/collections/f...-for-rivian-r1t-r1s-to-change-or-rotate-tires

Well now I just learned something else. I didn’t even think you can’t just jack up the car like an ICE car.

ICE vehicles have what we called a Pinch Weld which is where your supposed to jack a vehicle from since its the strongest point.

I would like to see scout come up with their own puck style thats more permanent and that is always ready like how an ICE vehicle is.

My plan is to never have to jack it up myself. Ha. Leave that to the professionals.

I think you mean unibody vehicles.

Not all ICE vehicles are designed to be lifted at their pinch welds.

Ummmm… Tell that to my Silverado that I lift from the pinch weld. Strongest weld on any vehicle. Scout could go for the typical body on frame chassis jack points. But I highly recommend non of the puck crap. Just make it build into the Scouts, so it always is prepared.

Big yikes.

Here are the recommended lift points for Silverados.
