Rivian Tire Swap Function

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Are we gonna see the tire Swap function on Scout? It allows you to input your tire and it will update range and driving efficiency, really helpful information.

This sounds like a really good thing to have.

Winter, day in the woods. Maybe be able to save your presets.
I watched a video and supposedly it will have save-able presets. Only thing i wonder about is how TPM will work, since its a radio wave, so it would only be communicating to the first tire set. Unless its a bluetooth approach where you would need to connect to that sets TPM.

That's a very good question. Yet to be answered.

That interesting I’ve heard of any that connect that way. I wonder if the motion activation will shorten battery life of the tpm sensor
My guess is that they only measure every 60 seconds. It says it conserves battery life, since it’s not constantly communicating with the vehicle.

So after a bit of Research i found that for Rivian they connect and sync after driving. So they must have a motion sensor of some sort that lets it go into sync mode. Hopefully scout does something similar, not rebranding it with a sticker that says Scout and has a Rivian logo under.

I hadn’t even considered we might see Rivian logos on some things. Our Supra is very obviously a BMW in a Toyota suit. Under the hood that engine has BMW logos in various places. I don’t care as I understand the car would not have existed without the collab but it would be nice if they did that if they could at least change the logos.

We may or may not. Im thinking we probably won’t but who knows. I Know Scout doesn’t want to be linked with Rivian since the allegations that Scout is a Rivian in Sheep’s Clothing. So I'm sure it will have Scout logos on everything.

And for BMW and Toyota i don’t know what the contract write up was. But its almost liek how the Grenadier BMW wanted them to put the German flag on the car. And to have big bold letters engraved that said BMW Powered and the Shift knob in the vehicle.

Yeah I’m guessing with as much money as the vw group is paying Rivian everything will either say vw or scout
Without doubt it will say Scout or VW, mainly Scout since they are the main company that is an Independent company. And need to really show that they are.

The Harvesters Engine block will probably have a VW Code stamped on it.

Yeah it would make sense to a the very least brand as much as possible as scout with the dealer lawsuits and everything

Will probably have vw casting with scout covers on the harvester

I’m curious who they are getting the motors/axles from I’m guessing ZF since they already offer a solid axle ev motor

    Probably ZF.

Guessing it won’t say VW to keep Scout arms length from VW ?
You never know, and even established companies can overlook the little things. We had an Infinity QX30 for awhile (great car, btw) and I knew when we bought it that it was basically a rebranded Mercedes. Sure enough, on the little emergency key that popped out of the key fob, there was a Mercedes logo.
