Whinin’ and cryin’

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

nah if it was meant to be political he would have considered how often the robots killing people in their homes are considered the good guys
Thank you!!! The exact point which i left out since one thats violent and two the US government already has created a solution to the problem and i just looked it up and it seems the FBI is on high alert for these protests. Which have seem to slow down.

I’m now donating plasma and anything else from my body that pays me for my time. Also judging more events on weekends to throw in the vehicle fund.
Gonna pray in two years from now the stock market has stabilized or I may be significantly reducing my dream Scout 😀
Waiting for my OF to pick up, people like hairy, slightly overweight and sweaty 40 year old dad bods, with big noses right ?😉😆

Cyber cab is released and DOGE is done with its 2 year program.

And then cyber trucks take revenge on all of the protesters that blew up their family members and stood outside harassing and threatening customers, and they go right through all their houses via Autopilot. Also it’s not like that couldn’t happen since Tesla is a AI research company and everything is controllable via servers at Tesla HQ and Server locations. Also this isn’t any political message this is just comedy. Although it would be pretty hilarious if one day we woke up to Tesla Cybertrucks go on a rampage on the people that protested outside of tesla stores.
They’re kinda like zombies though in that pieces seem to fall off…

Probably, all Teslas are built with double sided tape and glue. Tesla makes 1000 cars per hour. I’m sure that has something to do with the issues. I don’t know if thats giga Texas or in total. My guess is thats Texas.
Both mine were built in Fremont and have been solid. It seems like a CT specific issue.

I'm kinda used to waiting for a new EV to start production unfortunately. I waited two years to get my current ride, an Ioniq 5, so this is about the same. I pre-ordered that one based on the reviews overseas and stuff and was number 78 in line in Canada which was kinda fun. The only thing it got me was a car in the first week of deliveries, no fun swag or anything...oh and people would constantly stop me in parking lots to ask about it since it was so unique compared to all the other cars on the market at the time.

Anyway I'm looking forward to my Scout. It's a little bigger than I'd like so every time I go out driving I have that running through the back of my mind "will I be able to fit in this parking spot in the Traveller? Will I be able to go into the parkade in the Traveller? Are the roofs too low? Will it fit in my driveway behind the Ioniq?" etc.

I really hope actual colours will be offered. I recently spec'd out a Silverado EV just for fun to see and the only colour options for the ones I was looking at were black, white, and grey. I want yellow, or copper, or burnt orange or something. Heck, give me avocado green or harvest gold, go real retro with it like a fridge from the 1970's!

I have to say again if I was buying an EV tomorrow it would be the Ionic 5. It’s like a retro 80’s VW or Honda. It’s retro modern without being based on a previous make/model. I look every time I see one. Just COOL cars

That’s Ioniq 5N looks and sounds amazing. I know, I know. EVs dont need to make sound but it sure is fun. And that Performance blue is a beautiful color.

The one that I kind of like for looks is the Kona Electric. It comes in an extremely bright-ass neon yellow. Nobody will miss you in that. The drawback is that it’s apparently kind of crappy in the “not reliable” sense. Still, it’s cute. I’m really itchy to hear updates about the R3, too. It looks like a cute version of the not-released Scout III.

I looked at that for my daughter but knowing her goal was Texas (from PA) for college was a stretch. But it’s cool. The interiors are fun too

That R3 is adorable. I really like the R3X but it’s just too small for me. It was the colors that got me. That teal with the orange mirrors really stood out. It’s going to be a while for that one tho I understand. We get a lot of Rivian news in our local news since I’m 15 minutes from the plant. My understanding is they are going to shut down the line at the factory the end of this year to retool for R2. I thought I read somewhere it was going to be at least 2028 before anything started on the R3. And they still have that plant they are trying to build in Georgia and it’s not event started yet.

They’d be better to hold off on that plant and use SM plant if capacity truly exists to build that. They are already sharing architecture why not help build them too 😀
