We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

I’m sure there will be a 20” option that for my use would be fine. I’m really liking this tire for a 20” option.
That’s a great looking tire A. Have to keep this in mind

Please, please, please offer a 16” wheel option. For those of us that will actually be going off road, I’d like to have the option of a 16” wheel so I can have more sidewall area. Not that I won’t purchase aftermarket 16” wheels, but it would be nice to not have to spend the extra money on aftermarket wheels. Thank you.
It is unlikely you'd be able to fit a 16" aftermarket wheel. It's a heavy vehicle that needs big brakes which will probably be too big to fit a 16" wheel.

Another reason to allow 17" rims is that the Nokian LT3 is the only 35 inch dedicated winter tire on the market. It is also the biggest (apart from their Arctic Truck 44" special). And this 35" tire is only available for 17 inch rims (LT315/70 R 17).

If 18s are the smallest rims, that means we will have to use 33 inch winter tires, which would look borderline pathetic on such a large vehicle. Especially if one uses 37 inches during the rest of the year.

My dream would be that Scout made Nokian (or another company) produce 37 inch dedicated winter tires. Looks matter – it is the main reason most people will buy these Scouts in the first place.

The BFGoodrich KO3 tires are decent in winter, but far from a dedicated winter tire in snowy/icy conditions. The KO3 will seem fine until you have to make a quick evasive maneuver or brake quickly to avoid hitting someone.

I used K02 315/70R 17 on a lifted 2500HD Duramax many years ago. In winters with lots of snow, it tracked like a snowmobile. Emergency braking/quick manoeuvres were thankfully never required but presumed less than ideal. I would definitely consider K03's on a Terra BEV. But I wouldn't be taking it off-road to the extent I'd need to worry about those tires.

My brother has KO3’s on his Colorado. They really are a good tire in snow and ice, and they are pretty quiet. I considered them for my TRX, but at the time then35x12.50 on 18’s was only available in a F Load Rating. That was more than I wanted to put on my truck.

Generally speaking, giant / wider snow tires have diminishing returns for snow and ice performance. I run these Nokians on my R1T for 5 months out of the year and have not found anything better for severe winter service.

I run Hakkapeliitta R5's (235/45 R18) on a Model 3 in the winter. When I first put them on, they were so grippy on bare pavement they would have a mind of their own. Though this winter they haven't been particularly confidence inspiring which is surprising.

I was hit broadside by a real blast of wind recently while on snow and ice and it sent me into a good wobble but corrected quickly.

They are great in the first season but do degrade fairly quick.
