What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Tesla's will hold the tilt until you leave Reverse. That being said, with the new camera setup in my 2022, I didn't bother to set the tilt. While Tesla does not have a full birds eye, the views from the under mirror and rear cameras give me plenty of visibility. I don't even check my mirrors when backing any more.

And another critical driving skill bites the dust!

Hmmm! Maybe I’ll try this with my school bus. Just throw it in reverse and mash the throttle. That will be fun.
Funny-we bit the bullet a few weeks ago and bought a used convertible for a fun car and it’s old enough to have no reverse camera and I have to say, the camera crap has spoiled us because we are back to swivel heads when we drive it-you really do lose certain skills after driving new cars with all the electronic tech. Kinda scary

Uhhhh. What? I never said I didn't look behind me. I said I used a different (better) mechanism to look. A wide angle HD camera installed on the rear of your bus, along with additional cameras along the sides allow you to see WAY more of what's behind (and around) you than mirrors. Add cross traffic sensors in the rear as well and you have infinitely more situational awareness than any mirror setup.

Just giving you a hard time. I wish I had cameras too, especially on the bus.

I'd like to be able to remove the TV screen in the center of the dash and still have a functioning vehicle. Maybe have a storage place for it in the center console.

Welcome to the community!
May I ask why you’d want to remove it?
I can't answer that, but I definitely like the idea of the vehicle being fully functional if the infotainment portion craps out for whatever reason. I know I wouldn't be able to access menus and such, but I'd want to still be able to get in and drive if needed.

Thanks, I think there are too many screens in modern vehicles and my personal preference would be not to look at it while I'm trying to be offline camping etc. An option to disconnect would be awesome. Would you ever want to remove it? Or turn it off?

I get that it's useful at times but would also be nice to not see it. Also, if anyone at Scout is reading these, would be cool to remove it, like an iPad and be able to use it on the tailgate or in the tent as a tablet or camera if you wanted and then reconnect on the dash when driving.

I never thought about the removal - interesting idea, but I think it brings about a whole host of mounting issues, but maybe in future versions...
I think I will use the ability to turn it off though - for all the reasons you and others mention.

They have shown and discussed a decompression/chill mode that will shut everything down except for a small numeric showing battery life, otherwise entire dash goes to black out mode
