What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I remember someone saying one would be added to the glass roof package but it didn’t make it to the prototype demo vehicles.

That is a game changer for folks that live in hotter climates but still want the expansive experience of the glass roof.

It does sound like it will remain as a fixed roof, not a sunroof. I think it’s too big to slide into the roof, but it may be able to tilt if they can figure that out. It’s a big piece of glass so even tilting at highway speeds will require a beefy motor to lift it.
Would agree. Also think if they go to that expense they should just make an operable sunroof but size is an issue and unless it raises on the exterior I do t think there would be internal room. And with overlanding and roof racks if it is external it would need to be very low profile

They make roof racks for 4Runner with a cutout for their small sunroof. But this glass roof is going to be big so…

Fold down bench seats that turn into a bed
Welcome!

We can’t say for sure, but the Traveler roller concept they have been using for press events has what appears to be a flat cargo space when the seats fold down. There is a track system on the load floor that matches tracks on the 2nd row seat backs.

Hopefully this means they plan to make the 2nd row flat so it can be used as a sleeping platform.

The models we have seen in the videos still don’t have finalized seat designs, like the front bench not being able to fold down on the Terra concept, but I’m crossing my fingers for this feature as well.

I had an EV/Hybrid luxury SUV pop up on FB today and should have screen shot it but it was a feature to boil water (say for espresso) but what if an option was offered as a small insta—hot water heater so when camping you could heat water for a shower or for coffee/cooking. I wonder what energy would be needed to generate that? Could be mounted in the frunk?

I just plug in my induction kettle. It boils water in a couple of minutes.

That’s cool. But what is you could heat shower water like an instant hot water heater. Maybe there is a hard case roof mound storage shell that has a rubber bladder inside to carry like 50 gallons of water. Not sure how to execute it but would be a cool option for people overlanding who want occasional hot/warm showers. Sitting on roof would also help prewarm the water in hot summer to simplify the process.

A lot of my friends use “Solar water heaters.”

You just paint a 6 ft stick of PVC black, add a cap on end and a T coupler on the other.

The top of the T has a threaded end that can be spun off to refill it, and you can add a schrader valve to the cap.

The lower end of the T has a threaded fitting for a hose.

Then you mount it on the roof.

They get pretty damn hot in direct sunlight and hold the heat for a while.

You can pressurize them with an air compressor on the schrader valve if you don’t want to just vent the top cap and use gravity.

A 4” pipe that’s 72” long will hold about 4 gallons.

There are overlanding solutions out there. We usually just heat enough for a warm, not hot shower. Heating water in a 6-gallon RV water heater tank from ambient to shower temperature would take about 1% of a 100 kWh battery.

This is a very clever idea. Thanks for sharing.

I like to call these the world's most expensive PVC pipe.
These are aluminum, so are more durable and pass heat to the water better, but yeah.

When I built ours (out of PVC) back before Roadshower was even a prototype, I included a motorcycle innertube to act as a pressure bladder rather than add air directly to the water (never needed to worry about parking angle). It eventually failed due to long drives on rough roads and I never remade it.
