What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
It sometimes seems to me that virtually all vehicles are designed by people who live in much cooler environments than me. I think I have read that it is not uncommon for temps in vehicles can hit 175 during our summer - opening the door feels like stepping into an EZ bake oven. It would be nice if someone made a hot weather state version. Start with insulating the solid roof. Maybe put in a small ventilation fan to keep the inside temp near ambient outdoor temp (without the drain of actually running the AC). Perhaps, give us the ability to remotely turn on the AC (so we can turn it on when we feel like we will be leaving a store in 15 minutes). Likewise, perhaps an easy to choose semi-cool mode, not necessarily run the AC at full cold (will want that mode for dogs), but maintain the car at non-life threatening levels.

Only other one I would ask for is good hard points for mounting aftermarket roof racks. Something that can handle fairly serious weight (like 700lbs for the static load of a roof top tent) and decent dynamic weight (300lbs for 4 kayaks).
Since they are using Rivian software, there is a very strong chance, if not a guarantee that they will use this Rivian feature.

It automatically kicks the AC on to protect the screens in the vehicle.

I too live in a hot climate. We see 100*+ pretty often, and since we live near a lake it gets pretty humid too.

I did make a feature request for pre-cooling the cab with the phone app in the Suggestion Box thread. Also requested solar window treatment as an option.

The additional roof insulation is also a great idea. May knock a few pounds off of the payload capacity, but that’s fine with me.

A vehicle in the Scout’s price range will have an app. Heck my son’s Hyundai Venue has an app that allows you to do that.
Everyone has an App. My Stove, refrigerator and microwave have an App. Why they have an App isn't clear. I can do everything without it, with the exception of preheating my oven as I am leaving the grocery store with that frozen pizza. As they say there's an App. for that. 😅

I dunno if it applies to all vehicles, but it seems that the scout EVs were designed by people cooler than me :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
