Most new vehicles will allow you to turn on the AC, (generally full blast) using the key-fob. For other niceties an App. will be required.Scout will have this, and you'll be able to enable things like this from the App
A vehicle in the Scout’s price range will have an app. Heck my son’s Hyundai Venue has an app that allows you to do that. Most new vehicles will allow you to turn on the AC, (generally full blast) using the key-fob. For other niceties an App. will be required.
Since they are using Rivian software, there is a very strong chance, if not a guarantee that they will use this Rivian feature. It sometimes seems to me that virtually all vehicles are designed by people who live in much cooler environments than me. I think I have read that it is not uncommon for temps in vehicles can hit 175 during our summer - opening the door feels like stepping into an EZ bake oven. It would be nice if someone made a hot weather state version. Start with insulating the solid roof. Maybe put in a small ventilation fan to keep the inside temp near ambient outdoor temp (without the drain of actually running the AC). Perhaps, give us the ability to remotely turn on the AC (so we can turn it on when we feel like we will be leaving a store in 15 minutes). Likewise, perhaps an easy to choose semi-cool mode, not necessarily run the AC at full cold (will want that mode for dogs), but maintain the car at non-life threatening levels.
Only other one I would ask for is good hard points for mounting aftermarket roof racks. Something that can handle fairly serious weight (like 700lbs for the static load of a roof top tent) and decent dynamic weight (300lbs for 4 kayaks).
Everyone has an App. My Stove, refrigerator and microwave have an App. Why they have an App isn't clear. I can do everything without it, with the exception of preheating my oven as I am leaving the grocery store with that frozen pizza. As they say there's an App. for that.A vehicle in the Scout’s price range will have an app. Heck my son’s Hyundai Venue has an app that allows you to do that.

Yesterday I loaned my Lightning to a buddy who needed to move a bunch go stuff.@Jamie@ScoutMotors
I am sure you cant speak to this definitively, but it would be so cool if we got pre-emptive messages/alerts in the Scout App if there are faults detected like Cyure mentioned above.
It would be a game changer for the ownership experience if our cars told us they were "sick" before we jumped in them and found out the hard way.
Do you think it is something we should request in the Suggestion Box or is there something like this in the works already?
I look at my tire and I can see it's low. I hit washer fluid button and it doesn't work. Fill it up later. These sensors are rippoff. We need a base model.Yesterday I loaned my Lightning to a buddy who needed to move a bunch go stuff.
While he had the truck, I received an alert on my phone telling me about a fault with one of the systems.
I called him up and asked if he needed a rescue. No, but he had seen the fault alert pop up on the dash as well.
It’s a simple enough fault to deal with, but it was nice to get the alert on my phone.
The app also lets me know about things like washer fluid and tire pressure.
Have you never wanted to watch a movie at a drive-in, nor a sunset over the Grand Canyon, or waited in the car until the kids get out of school, or waited for a ferry, or any of a myriad of things best done sitting with the engine and all those power draining accessories OFF?Start/stop button, certainly not needed on the full EV version (don't know if it's really needed for the Harvester or not). Should just turn on when the door opens and be ready to drive when brake pedal is depressed and put in drive.
Absolutely dislike all that. There are many instances where I need to move the vehicle a couple of feet or inches and with my Tundra I can't without sitting in, seat belt on, door fully closed. Like hooking up a trailer. Most of the time the rear camera makes it perfect, but on a bright sunny day when the hitch is in the shadow, it's invisible. So you have to hop out and in a few times to get the ball in the right spot. Many vehicle manufacturers have implemented an automatic park feature that engages when the driver unbuckles their seatbelt or opens the door while the vehicle is not in park. I understand some manufacturers had some roll away problems way back when. But, not a fan.
Funny you say that, I was actually at the drive in last night. Quick change in settings to turn walk away lock off and lights set to keep off and it powered down while we watched outside. Lost 0% charge while I was there. Last time we went a storm came through half way so we sat in the car with the screen and lights off with the ac on to keep cool. Never thought a start/stop button would really be a benefit to me in these situations. There is an option to completely power off while in the car too if you want.Have you never wanted to watch a movie at a drive-in, nor a sunset over the Grand Canyon, or waited in the car until the kids get out of school, or waited for a ferry, or any of a myriad of things best done sitting with the engine and all those power draining accessories OFF?
Yeah, but I don’t want to fiddle with settings, and figure what settings I need to change and go through menus and crap like that, I just want to turn off the d@*# car! A simple power button is exactly what I’m looking for.Funny you say that, I was actually at the drive in last night. Back to needing a dedicated drive-in movie modeFunny you say that, I was actually at the drive in last night. For me it’s two taps to do that or one voice command against hundreds of times not having to press a button for no reason when I get in to drive or when I get out so worth it for me.Yeah, but I don’t want to fiddle with settings, and figure what settings I need to change and go through menus and crap like that, I just want to turn off the d@*# car! My Tundra came with a useful app, but after a bit more than a year they disabled it and told me about the monthly bill I'd need to pay to keep it running. I say if it came with the vehicle then they should support it for the reasonable life of the vehicle.A vehicle in the Scout’s price range will have an app. Heck my son’s Hyundai Venue has an app that allows you to do that.
EGGGSACTLY !!! And if you add some stress to whatever situation (like a tornado on the horizon, or hail damage, the clear thinking to browse menus might just be compromised.Yeah, but I don’t want to fiddle with settings, and figure what settings I need to change and go through menus and crap like that, I just want to turn off the d@*# car! Well in the emergency situation of a tornado or something needing a quick exit no button is better because you just get out and it turns off without having to press anything. My Tundra came with a useful app, but after a bit more than a year they disabled it and told me about the monthly bill I'd need to pay to keep it running.
