Scout Concepts in Cambridge, MA, October 16-18, 2026

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

And last thoughts
I met @Reinvent this morning so great meeting and chatting, sorry I had to run. Wife thought I drowned in the river
And yes, she decided to come along without divorcing me but she posted herself in the bleachers and enjoyed the race.
Finally, and as usual-thanks to all the Scout Motors team members who travel from home to make these events happen. And thanks to Colin, Katherine, Taylor and @CP1@scoutmotors for taking time to chat. I thanked the mountainside team the other day but wanted to cover both teams. Keep up the great work and thanks again for another great event. Looking forward to the next iterations

I gotta say, I was a little skeptical about hearing "oh wow, they look so much better in person!"

But I was wrong and will admit that. They do.

The new car smell got me. The interior really does look much better in person, and these things are going to be beasts (in a very good way). So cool to meet some of the Scout team tonite, and to meet J Alynn and Scoutsie too. Lots of fun dorking-out on Scout for an hour or two.
@R1TVT Just curious. As a fellow Rivian owner, I'm interested in knowing what led you to saying they are going to be beasts. Was it the size or something else?

Passenger side stalk
Thank you so much for posting these, @J Alynn ! I'm happy they seem to mimic the R1 because I've found them very intuitive on my R1. At least for the stalks, I don't find myself wanting much (except maybe a "resume" button for the cruise) or wishing something was different (the dedicated "audio" button probably for answering calls, etc., but that appears to be there!

Yes, size, the Terra is certainly full-sized, whereas my R1T sits sort of as a tweener between a Tacoma and a full sized truck. I actually really like the size for the R1T, but feel that the bed could be longer and the interior stretched an inch or maybe two. I am also thinking that the entire Terra platform just has a feel to it that is more rugged & beastly than the R1T (could be the wheels and tires, which will likely incur an efficiency penalty when it comes time to post actual range numbers). I'm really interested in seeing how Scout finalizes the drivetrain, the frame and all the suspension components. I have a feeling that they will be overbuilt in a good way. I'm a fan of a little less complexity, even if the trade-off means a little less refinement in ride quality, but this is all TBD until we see what comes with production. If I am going to live with a truck outside of its warranty period, I would rather opt for an overbuilt / more traditional live-axle suspension & IFS (with no air). We shall see!
