Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

Learn something new every day. Now that I know what a dead pedal is. I still don’t understand the reason for it. What have folks that drive an automatic been doing with their left foot all of these years? Especially since they put the dimmer switch on the stalk.
In my Wrangler I can’t reach to rest my foot and have it the same angle as my foot on the gas. So I just have to keep my foot flat on the floorboard and have my knee bent.

A manual Supra with a dead pedal. It’s a thing in auto and manual.

My guess is you have one and do t realize it. Most are chromed or capped. Most are just a rubber pad on an area raised on the far right left side of the driver’s footwell

Left side.

I liked the one in the Grenadier. I could reach it. That’s my problem. I like my seat back as far as possible. So if there is a dead pedal it’s hard for me to reach it in a lot of cars.

Well, you're right. There is rubber pad on the left side. Will have to try it out.
