Preparing an EV for a winter storm...

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
It's been revised down. For today, I expect between 3-6 inches here, less in town, and more higher up on the mountain. Not sure how long the storm will stick around. Expecting thunder storms too.
I’ve been in a thunder snowstorm once (top of a mountain while getting elk we harvested to the truck as the sun set). It was WILD!

We have one or two every few years.
I’d never seen one. I didn’t even know it was possible. It was something out of a movie. We were close to 6,000ft of elevation on the side of a mountain as big snow flakes fell and lightning filled the sky. The day started off blue sky and beautiful, but as the wind picked up you could see the storm roll in. It was almost a spiritual feeling on the mountain that night. Like the world (or something bigger) was talking to me.

It’s a pretty spectacular and awe-inspiring experience for sure.

I'm heading from PA to Quebec City and Montreal in 2 weeks so I'm imagining I'll probably be dealing with a bit of snow and cold on that trip. Hopefully not quite as cold as last year but we'll see. I enjoy driving in the snow, it's just the other drivers that are the concern, but it seems to be a lot better quality of snow drivers up in Quebec for obvious reasons.

Have a safe trip. Glad to hear you like snow. We tend to shy away from areas that have snow. In 2 weeks we will be in Bimini snorkeling for a long weekend. :)

Was just there in November (during that little cold snap). Wow!
The traffic in town was crazy! And the bus drivers were on some kind of strike (I think), lots of walking in the cold wind until we found the tunnels and stuff underground...
