  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

We had the soft top and bad hinge joints were actually cutting through the canvas top. Had to dump it. Having seen the traveler twice in person I can say it is leaps and bounds better in finish. And having had a scout as first driver at 16 the new is the perfect evolution of the old Scout II’s. Glad you’ve at least put the Bronco through a few paces
I’m interested in seeing what the patent will look like for the cabana top. Because I’m Jay Lenos video with Scott, he said it will be very quiet. Now obviously that video isn’t the best to go off of, because you hear the straight cut gears where whining. But it’s gonna b4 interesting to see everything about it, like drainage, inner structure, etc.

The gears whining were because it’s a small temporary battery and Jay was basically running it beyond what was intended. Jamie mentioned that at some point. I’m sure the prototype isn’t fully insulated as it will be but guessing they know the Db levels from testing.

I wonder if they used Tomberlin Golf Carts. To build the power train. SC natives.

iam all in on the BEV version..dont want extra complexity of the EREV..and want a basic stock version not loaded up..
It’s important to note we’re talking about a modern EV, so stock is likely to be very well equipped. Things like heated seats/wheel, and a robust infotainment system should be expected, of course the heating might be optional but given the benefits in range that would be unfortunate, though at launch I would expect it regardless, based on other EVs most options are battery and motors, so hopefully the majority of options will be more additive and personal, for example; I don’t want to have to choose a sunroof to have better speakers, or a built GPS (which given the infotainment you can download a separate one, you just can’t plan routes on your phone) to have rear cup holder - Chevrolet. However options like a winch, roof, bumpers, or baskets come down to what you want or need

I have the Traveler EREV on reserve, but it is disappointing to see them push out the dates. At this point I am wondering if we will actually have vehicles on the road before 2028/2029. I also wish that they would release some more info, going through all the question docks where tons of them just say that they will release more info as they are closer to launch. The specs we do know with things like 0-60 times put this behind close competitors like Rivian R1S by a very wide margin, which considering that these will be 2028 vehicles (likely), means that the current competitors will also likely improve from here. This means that the Scout vehicles will likely be even that much more behind the competition potentially.

With all the tax credits and everything disappearing for EV's it is tempting to back out of my place in line and just go with a Rivian before they are all gone, or even trade into a new RAM TRX since it is coming back as well (with even more power). Just getting impatient on not hearing any updates for Specs, Pricing, ect. (really me just crying over here dreaming of some kind of information drop soon).

Welcome to the community! Thanks for your first post.

Couple things, but I wanted to start by saying ultimately this is transportation and everyone had to do what they have to do based on their needs and wants.

As far as I know nothing has changed with release date. It’s always been production to start around the end of 2027 and they will be model year 2028. Yes it’s anticipated we will see some vehicles on the road in 2027 and from there it will ramp up.

I don’t know how much time you have had to look around on the forum but there are actually lots of comments from @Jamie@ScoutMotors. He keeps us updated and answers our questions when he can.

We will be getting a 2026 calendar of events at some point. It’s my understanding based on a Jamie post that the concepts are getting revamped and we could be getting an additional Traveler concept so they can go more places. When they come within driving distance you I highly recommend going to see them. I have seen them twice and it was well worth it.

Welcome again!

I second this. Welcome but everything is still timing as originally noted. Sure-we are all anxious and waiting sucks but it is still moving on pace. As for the speed issue-it’s a 5,000-6,000 lb vehicle-how fast does it need to go and why? It’s a heavy brick on wheels and if less than 3.5 isn’t enough I’d be scared to think what you do in your spare time. A vehicle this big should really not even be that fast unless the brakes are just dynamite. But hey-to each their own. Welcome aboard
