Package options - what would you like bundled?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Where else can a sunglasses holder go? There has to be somewhere else to put it.
Could go in a small compartment under the dash to the left of the steering wheel (above where you might find a manual hood-pull lever). Some cars / trucks have a secret compartment there for sunglasses.

Well it isn't a secret if you tell everyone... :D
Jamie, if you do put a sun glass storage area there I would support that idea. I encountered an interesting issue with storing my prescription glasses (sun and regular) in Ford's overhead sun glass holder. Sometimes daytime ambient temps will heat the roof up so much that the heat inside the sun glass compartment is hot enough to, I believe, craze the poly carbonate lenses... I had it happen once and thought I got some chemical on my lenses that caused it, but now I've had it happen a second time and I hypothesize its from the heat buildup in the overhead sun glass holder...

Okay peeps another question. I always have questions. The other day SM posted on social media another picture and part of the caption was “an analog compass if you want it”. I just assumed they all were going to come with one. This would lead one to believe they may not. It might be an option.

I love that darn compass. That teaser picture they released before reveal with the compass I literally went and told my husband oh my god there’s a compass on the ceiling!

So I would totally pay for it if it were an option. It got me thinking tho, what about a vintage package. In my vintage package I would like the compass, plaid inset in the seat or possibly the door panel, but I’m not as familiar with the vintage Scouts.

What other fun vintage throwbacks could be included in a vintage package?

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!!View attachment 9869
Analog clock. My first scout had a tilt-o-meter telling me my lean angle. I’ve only seen them on boats. Everybody loved it probably added by a previous owner.
Did end up rolling that one anyway🤣🤣

Never thought about the heat but I’ve seen some wear on the edge of my lenses that would fall under the term crazed. Would be really cool if the leather and button area all lift up to have glasses under the button-a hidden flip top so-to-speak

Only if that area has plenty of radiant heat barrier installed! I'd much prefer the blank-off plated area you had the photo of as the sun glass holder area. make it a push to release hinged compartment.

I am going to add my vote for a la carte ordering even though I know its not likely to happen. I would suggest keeping the bundles small so that I dont have to order a $6k premium package with self driving and cameras and all that just to get a sunroof. Go back to basics. Cold weather package: heated seats, mirrors, locking diffs etc. Towing package (auto leveling suspension, trailer brake controller (assuming they fix the 5k tow rating on the terra), west coast style tow mirrors (hint hint). Things like that. If a la carte isnt possible make the bundles digestible. GM requires a $8k premium package on the Silverado EV LT just to get the midgate, to me the rigs biggest selling point. I dont want supercruise just so I can jam 12 ft 2x4’s in the back.

Agree and FYI Jamie stated Level II+ so at the beginning at least it sounds like no self driving, which is fine by me.
