Off-topic stuff…

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Sounds like you guys are prepared…
Hopefully no injuries or worse in your area as a result of the storm.

Midwestern weather can be really unpredictable at times.
I realized I need to get a couple lights that work with our Ryobi batteries because those are always charged and I have a few of those little flashlights that plug into outlets and stay charged and go on when the power is out. I need a bunch more.

Our area of town has underground power lines and usually our power doesn’t go out but there’s so many downed power lines it did.

Still no internet this morning. Il just glad no one in town was hurt.

Glad to hear you’re safe. Is this a usual amount of storms this year? It seems to be. Or, maybe I’m just more aware now.

Well last night was exciting here. We had emergency alert and tornado sirens go off about 8:45 or so. We were in the basement for about an hour. Power flashed a few times and finally went off and was out for hours. Thankfully we have underground power lines in our neighborhood. Power came back on hours later but our internet is still down.
Glad everyone is safe
I just read a post that a wall out at a new building at the Rivian plant collapsed and there’s lots of downed power lines and trees in town.

Hope everyone else is okay! View attachment 14960

You can never have too many lights when the power goes out! 😁

If you don't have an inverter yet, Ryobi has a good selection for both the 18V and 40V batteries. With 120V AC power outlets and USB-A and USB-C outlets, they are super useful to have on hand when the power goes out.

I ordered a bunch of stuff on Amazon. We will be prepared for the next one!

There are these nifty rechargeable lightbulbs that we got, courtesy of a recommendation from our next-door neighbor (who is usually a jerk, but was pretty kind in this instance). They have little hooks and can be hung from things that you can hang stuff on hooks from or can be screwed into sockets or plugged into walls for charging. They’re damn handy. If these aren’t exactly them, then these are very much like the ones we have:

Not to rub it in…

I really like having an EV that can provide emergency power when the grid fails…

;)
