Luxury features I would like to See

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Statistics are what you want them to be. I lived in Austin for about 25 years, so I remember some really hot years, but google now does not show them. Probably a lot of reasons for the changes in published number (such as which station or stations are being averaged to give an "Austin" number - I used to only compare the airport weather station numbers). I do recall the news talking about breaking 100 days over 100 one year - but now that record is in the 70's. I remember one week over 110 - topping out at 118 (it was very hot), but now the recorded high that week is only 112. I hiked 5-10 miles one of those days - it was brutal. 1/2 and 1/2 hike. 1/2 mile and a 1/2 gallon of water.

But yes, this has been a very mild summer. Started off strong (2 days over 100 in May-that is early), then the temps dipped down and did not break 100 again to the very end of July. August has been a little less than 1/2 over 100 so far.

I know the body adapts because my daughter was cold all summer in PA but when you are visiting this heat is brutal. But the sunset was killer tonight

yes the utility features are great. But luxury has made its way into outdoor living as well when choose to take our vehicles out of day to day routines to adventure. I would love to see auto dimming exterior mirrors, heads-up display so you can focus on what’s in front of you, heated windshield, wipers & exterior side mirrors, auto high beam, adaptive headlights that expand how much you can see on the road or path, heated/ventilated seats 1st and 2nd row, massaging seats, Apple Car play aside from Rivian software, integrated Waze navigation in Rivian system, Wireless phone charging that doesn’t cause your phone to heat up, ambient lighting, welcome lighting approach, auto folding side view mirrors and opening upon car approach and shut off.
All this and memory settings

I don't buy another car without the following: (as I have it now and prefer it)

  1. Heads up Display (To me #1 safety feature and should be required like backup camera was in 2012)
  2. Memory seats etc (Wife is 1' shorter) and we swap alot
  3. Heated and cooled seats (Living is desert no cooled seats is no fun)
  4. Physical knobs, got a new car with 80% in screen like HVAC and hate it, pretty much wanted to sell it since first week
  5. Range, we drive 600-700 miles alot once a month of so don't want a charging trip or gas station trip only 1 stop required is must. Usally coming back day of two later so its like 1400 miles in 2 days.
  6. Comfort, next car will be for wife mainly and will use for long road trips either way it needs to be comfortable. I Have a bronco for hard core off roading so it should be able to tow that too. (8K towing min) so 5k with harvester is deal breaker
  7. Hands Free Driving (ie SuperCruise or BlueCruise like) not a fan of autopilot in tesla did a 24 hour rental and wanted to return it after 2 hours but they were closed. Turns off on slight corners and once off 3 times won't come back on unless stop start it tec. Just an frustrating aned annoying experience. I really want hands free while towing as well. car needs to support trailer like GM trucks etc with latest Supercruise.
Probably others too.

Give me adaptive cruise and I’m good as I probably won’t be willing or able to cough up enough to afford it if I add anything else. :ROFLMAO:
