  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I leased a 2025 Ioniq 5 in mid August. Here are my 'likes'

1. 1 Pedal Driving. Hyundai calls it 'i-Pedal Max'. I really like it for surface roads. Level 3 for highway. My Wife likes level 2 for surface and level 1 for highway.

2. Roomy interior and light interior. I find it comfortable seating and like the buttons I have (heated seats, cooled seats, heated steering wheel, turn off the sonic sensors. Steering wheel buttons).

3. HUD and Nav in the HUD. Music content changes in the HUD. Phone of who is calling in the HUD.

4. Cargo room is OK to good. I actually bought a 'Modern Spare' tire kit and can put it behind the forward moved back seat on long trips.

5. NACS and the Tesla Network. Ionna. I drove to a wedding from Cleveland to Chicago and easily charged at Turnpike stops when making dinner and bathroom breaks. Network is great and reliable and not horribly expensive (not great though at .42-.50 per KWh). However, I only needed 2 charge stops and spent $15.50 and $18.50 to charge. I had 100% from Level 2 at home when I left and 100% from parking at the hotel in Chicago when starting the way back.

6. Automatic Shade for Pano roof. A Must.

7. Carplay - A must.

8. Mirror Tapped for Radar (not really native to the car, I realize).

9. Easy to install a Viofo 3 channel with Powercell 8 battery backup. Easy to route everything. i didn't hardwire it but 12V, which I use for nothing else. All really easy to do. I wish this was integrated.

10. Software and App is satisfactory. I wish there were cameras and more direct, immediate connectivity rather than 'requests' to change climate or start the charge or condition the battery. Perhaps they are 'requests' in a Telsa but the ones I've been exposed to seem more immedate and directly connected. Especially the Tesla Camera and Sentry system.

11. Mobile Center Console and features (even if the Qi charger heats more than charges).

12. Mechanical mirror adjustments and door opening handles.

13. Keyless iPhone and apple watch opening and vehicle start.

14. Profiles for myself and my wife.

15. True Valet mode to lockout our profiles and contacts and personal info.

16. Route planning with integrated charging stops in native NAV. I leased in Cinci and back home to Cleveland and then one trip to Chicago so experience is limited but it planned well and included charging.

17. Apple Carplay integration is good and immediate. Wish it was integrated into the HUD but native NAV is.

My list of dislikes is longer, probably.

Cheers
