How did you find out about the new Scouts?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
My FJ Cruiser is getting some miles on it, though it probably has another 150k to go before any real maintenance is required, but I've been shopping around for a replacement. I was an early R1S reservation holder with a great price locked in, but ultimately couldn't go through with the purchase because of their idiotic war on buttons. Seeing a news story in 2022 with the original sketches from Scout had me quite interested and I signed up here as one of the earliest members to follow along to see if Scout would screw this up like Rivian had. The announcement of the Harvester was icing on the cake for my use-case and the deposit went down on day two, after the reveal. (I'll let you day one suckers get the earliest builds, haha)

The convoluted rear tailgate situation is one of my only main concerns remaining, and the Harvester version will be slow for my tastes, but beyond that, it's looking great so far.

Did you really mean that your FJ has another 150K? (meaning it already has 150K?)

No kidding, my turned 20 years old two months ago... Almost old enough to drink the good stuff!
Uh, but which good stuff?

Don't mind the specific motor oil, I actually don't know what is "the good stuff" for 20 year old engines.
Glenfarclas 25 is mighty fine for humans though.

Dude, it's a Toyota on 35" mud tires that hasn't had a proper bath in years. Decidedly not cultured enough for a quality single malt. It's probably mourning the loss of Schlitz right now. :ROFLMAO:

Ok, when it gets to be over 50 like the one in this picture (which has had a heart, hips, knees, eyes and probably other stuff replaced) it can have quality single malt.

In the meantime, I also suggest

I’m not a coffee guy but assuming nitro coffee is similar in reaction to Guinness nitro? Just a gas based reaction to create a foam head for the coffee?

I’ll self-admittedly admit I was a Bronco fanboy. Ironically, I first learned about Scout Motors through a Bronco forum. I ended up purchasing a Bronco in 2024, but I’ve found myself following that forum less and less as I’ve crossed over here.

Now I’m fully on the Scout bandwagon now owning two heritage Scouts, a Scout II and an 800 and genuinely looking forward to the next chapter for Scout Motors.

On a side note/shiny object moment and speaking of creamy beverages-has anyone tried this yet? As a sipper it is fantastic, though it comes off sweet
I don't know about the bourbon cream, I'm not big on cream liquors. Buffalo Trace is excellent and a very good bargain. I agree as a sipper it comes off sweet, which can lead to too much of a good thing, if you know what I mean.

I actually rarely get this stuff, I just like the name stumptown. The actual coffee I recommend is Philz or Pure Bean (https://purebean.com/pages/idyllwild-ca) I think you are right that the "nitro" just gives is a bit of foam head and smoothness not present without the nitro.
