FB find of the day

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I am hoping that they will let aftermarket work their magic. Steel is great, but the vehicle has to be able to deal with the weight. I suspect the Scout will be able to. That said, I prefer full protection - not only a full bumper, bull bar, but full headlight protection. Too many deer hits. No fun like taking 7k of damage for something the bumper should have stopped. I have not taken serious front end damage since my trucks have had ranch hands. Sadly, the 7k was on a car that I purchased 1hr earlier - not a deer, just a dog. Funny thing, the car cost 9k, and insurance paid. Still have that Mustang. My Golf has taken a couple deer hits - with its headlights, each cost a fortune. Last hit was a kamikaze deer, bumper would not have helped because my truck was barely moving and the deer just rammed my door.

So, this was in real life, not FB. I was about half a block away and spotted this van. I looked at my wife and said, "I think that's an International Harvester!" She replied, "Do you need to go take a picture?" Yes... yes I did. They turned it into a little Coffee and Italian Soda van.

The metro. We’ve commented a few times that it would make a great future urban delivery truck or urban people hauler. Would be a popular vehicle I suspect

The Metro is wonderful, and I knew y'all would be interested because I'd seen posts about it on here. I won't lie, I was busy sketching in my brain how a modern interpretation could look with Scout's current design DNA they're building. I wanted to say it could take on the VW Buzz, but man the VW dealers would be all up in a tizzy if that were the case, haha.

All the more reason to do it.

That’s been my struggle. I feel like I posted an image on the AI thread with a modern interpretation but it felt too old. It’s a tough one to get right as you stated but maybe on that one-retro metro is the way to go and if it pisses off VW even better.
