Factory Pick Up - Cost and what does it include?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I go back and forth on it but I think I'd rather "beat the shit" out of my own car.

As a few others have said, I'd rather have the warning light come on or identify an issue/something missing on my own vehicle while its still under the purview of Scout than find out about it when I'm already on the road home.

Plus, depending on how accessories work, its a great opportunity for me to very quickly decide "you know what, I really should have added X..." while I'm still there and they can install it!

not sure if this has already been mentioned but Volvo offers a factory delivery option that involves paying for your flights to Sweden, your hotel, and food for a few days and then also pays to ship your technical back to the states to a dealership of your choice. https://www.volvocars.com/us/l/osd-tourist/
Do what you will with that info lol
Glad they still offer that. We almost did that back in 2011/2012. I’d prefer Scout offers experience but covering flights and hotels adds a lot of cost for everyone to absorb. That said I’ll keep pushing an add on $$ to spend night on site in a yurt or treehouse-that would be a cool experience

Fair points. Knowing the experience at BMW, no way I would use my own but it’s fair-if they are truly built as said then it should work but I suspect liability would force them to use their own vehicles. Imagine a novice who reacts poorly and rolls their Scout while learning. Seems like extra liability SM probably doesn’t need to deal with

Yeah I guess it really depends what the experience entails, not sure you'd want to have a track or course where there's a real chance of that happening.

well, if that's a risk the owner is willing to take. Come on J let them roll their Scouts.
