Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
We don’t know that yet, even car company has them.

Tesla pivoted from being a car company quite some time ago. What you saw last night goes waaaay beyond a limited run roadster. That tech is already confirmed to be in the Optimus robotic systems, which blows my mind (but shouldn't). They're thinking so far down the road...ok more like beyond orbit. The cars are just labs and the data feeds the flywheel.

So the people who put a reservation in back when that one was revealed did they get their money back or do they still have a reservation?
Those original reservations were fully refundable. In addition there was a referral incentive that resulted in over 100 people being promised free cars. No telling how many of those original folks cancelled or how many people owed a free car are still on the list given Rich Rebuilds lost his free car due to BS Tesla reasons.

Despite the "trust me bro" comments made last night that the car will actually go into production in two years, I find it hilarious they still include this in the reservation T&C's..
4. Delivery. You understand that Roadster isstill under development at the time you entered intothis Agreement and so we cannot guarantee when your vehicle will actually be delivered or if it will be delivered.

Most of the budget overruns have been by the State, not Scout. Scout made deals with the State before they started the factory build - I think mostly involving site runoff and possibly land swaps. State acted like a goverment actor and did not do it's part within its budget. Then politicians got involved and started pointing fingers.

Eventually, perhaps there will be lawsuits . The only issue is if the failure of by the state (or political subdivisions of the State) violates agreements Scout made with the EPA and who is responsible. Not a huge clusterfuck, but politics is politics. As for displacement - that is just democrats screaming in the wind. At least they are not as bad as Elon is dealing with. Democrats are bitching that since he brought jobs to the area, property values are rising - and Musk is evil. Eventually SpaceX needs to just tell Brownsville to **** off and move the jobs to somewhere people want to work.

Wow - new site feature. I specifically posted a bad word and it turned into "****"

On a minor level, this has happened to Blytheville. People complained about their yutes leaving. Local politicians work with state and SM to bring in SM bring jobs, opportunity (and yes - higher housing, more traffic). People complain about the associated Cons of growth and local politicians voted out.

I did not post this to start another political blame game. I am so sick of it. Not every single thing is about Democrats and Republicans, Blue and Red, etc. Both sides have their of mouthbreathers. Don't add to their ranks. I am reminded of wise words by The Dude. "God damn you, Walter! You fin' a-hole! Everything's a fin' travesty with you, man! And what was all that sht about Vietnam? What the f*** has anything got to do with Vietnam? What the f*** are you talking about?"
