Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
What on are earth are these from the Moto-Man interview ? My best guess is the early pre-Chris design concepts. Look lower and wider.

Yeah I saw like three in the video I think one was next to Terra. But it looked like it was an actual Scout, had the proportions and stance. But I don’t know. I wonder what Jamie has to say.

I do recall “The Benj” saying that when he got to scout they had models made and drawing of a vehicle that didn’t even closely resemble a Scout, so maybe those are them.

Story Highlights

What's This?
  • The Head of the Charles Regatta added more sponsors to cover rising event costs.
  • JPMorgan Chase and Vineyard Vines serve as foundational corporate partners this year.
  • Food and beverage revenue grew 25 percent between 2024 and 2025.
The Head of the Charles Regatta begins Friday for the 62nd rowing, and this year’s event features more sponsors to meet the rising costs of putting on the event, according to executive director Tori Stevens.

“We have had so much growth and we are really proud of the roster of partners that we're working with this year,” Stevens said. “It’s an expensive event, and it continues to be more and more expensive to stage an outdoor event with no permanent infrastructure.”

The rising costs are largely from more public safety needs as the event grows to over 375,000 spectators, as well as tenting and other temporary construction expenses, she said.

The event is still without a presenting sponsor, but Stevens said the regatta now has corporate partners on the “foundational” level – Vineyard Vines and JPMorgan Chase – that are very involved. Dunkin’, Delta Air Lines, Meet Boston and six other businesses are at the tier below, and the event has two dozen additional partners.

“I think the question is, do we need to have that presenting sponsorship? I don't think we necessarily have to. A few years ago, I would have said we did,” Stevens said.

Corporate sponsorships make up the largest portion of the regatta’s four-part revenue stream, she said. Food and beverage, merchandise and athlete registrations make up the balance, though Stevens said the nonprofit organization works to keep the athlete costs controlled so as not to dissuade would-be participants.

Stevens said JPMorgan Chase is hosting activations and athlete support, and will put the dollars behind the prize checks. Vineyard Vines outfits all the volunteers, and Dunkin’, among other brands, are working with the event to invest in experiences.

“So even if you aren’t a fan of rowing, you want to come out,” she said. Some 25 food vendors will now line the three-mile course, many of which are locally-based businesses sourced to create a “taste of Boston” experience, according to Stevens. Food and beverage revenue increased by 25% between 2024 and 2025, she said.

Whether a presenting sponsor could be back on the table in the coming years remains an open question. The regatta is open to it, Stevens said, if there is the right fit.

“For both sides it would have to be the right partner, the right level of integration and somebody who is really looking to commit for multiple years. There's so many areas of investment that we'd like to make in the event, and there's a lot of opportunity. It’s sort of saving it for that partner who wants to co-build with us,” she said.

It may be one of the older bucks that they just didn’t want to show and didn’t want to haul it around

Holyyyyy!!! The Roadster is ugly but wow does it have some insane technology. And can do some crazy things
Ugly indeed! They ruined the original prototype which had a beautiful design. I'm not sure I get their Halo strategy with this vehicle. Maybe they wanted to show case their technical superiority and make the case for Tesla and SpaceX merging. I don't know. But beyond they reveal, this vehicle is going to fade away because it is relevent to just about nobody.

I would appreciate this joke more if it wasn't being made by the worst person on Earth: " It goes beyond Plaid to unlock an entirely new dimension of driving."
