Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
We had the opportunity to valet this weekend and opted to enjoy a nice spring evening walk instead :ROFLMAO:
The last time I remember valet parking. I'm sure I've done it since, just didn't stick in my head as noteworthy.

It’s fun to think about what’s next. Don’t forget that Scout actively reads this forum. If you want to see something from Scout there is no better place to say it.
That and after 3-1/2 years some of us need another topic and we know how we all love making assumptions on this forum 😀

Another EV coming to market...

Man, even the original 1979 version was not user-friendly to work on, I can't imagine the modern EV equivalent. I disassembled and redid one for the kid in full Carolina Panthers livery. To Little Tikes credit, they still carried OEM original parts for the old models. :ROFLMAO:

Long running parts supply is an important quality in a company.

I wonder if it is still possible to get parts for my first IH (not a photo of the actual tractor, internet image of what i believe to be the same model)

The red paint on mine was long gone, last I saw it you could describe it as the Silver Surfer edition.

It doesn’t seem like it, but the original Scout 80 is nearly identical in length and width to a Mazda MX5 Miata. People seem to really like that size. However, a little bit bigger that could support 4 doors, or a 2 door removable top. I keep thinking about the 4 door Isuzu rodeo and the quasi convertible 2 door Amigo sibling. Lots of shared components and frame. Could support BEV and harvester. I would image that once they get the software right for harvester that a smaller engine and battery could be utilized for a smaller vehicle fairly easily. Body on frame makes it easy to put a different shaped body on the same frame.
I’d love an electric Miata!

My dad restores those for his tractor club so yes parts are available!

I think ertl made those. I’d say strong maybe. In addition to being an IH dealer in the 80s, we also had Ford. I got the exact same tractor but the Ford version for Christmas one year.

I saw one about two weeks ago and my wife and I would both love one but would just be such a tight squeeze. Not 22 anymore
He loved that car. Didn’t come with AC and we lived in SoCal, Murrieta. It was hot during the day. I asked him if he wanted AC. He said the roof comes off why would I need AC? Didn’t care how hot or cold it was for that matter. Drove with that roof off all the time.

That’s what made them so cool. I was like that with my 3-series. Over 50 degrees and the top was down 😀
