Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I don't know why Wagons are so rare here, I really like them as well. Back when I lived in the UK I had a Golf R Wagon which I loved. Nice and fast and loads of room in the back. I know they made the Golf Wagon here (although I barely ever see any) but they never released the Golf R in Wagon version in the USA.
I had the tsx wagon and probably my favorite car. Then they sent a survey asking if a v-6 version with SHAWD appealed to me and I was like HELL yeah it does-but I’ve mentioned before-Acura said women hated them so they never pursued it. Needless to say I blame @cyure 🤣🤣🤣

Well somebody better step up and start sharing the wealth. @cyure gonna hulk out soon. And I know with a couple of the NYC photos I got a peak of there’s a few surprises (small) but anxious to see them executed
Well today was the press/influencer day. Tomorrow its open to the public. I have seen the new floor mats in the Traveler on an Instagram post.

Hey I like wagons. If that Audi RS6 Avante wasn’t as much as my first house I would have bought it. 😹. The only wagons we get here cost a small fortune.

What do the floor mats look like? Let’s get a view.
Nevermind. I found a video of it.

Keeping secrets!
When a man says can you keep a secret and my wife behind me says-I’ll make sure of it-you get to see things. I took treats too-I’m no dummy.
Wait until the first Halloween they are out and you get to see the app that pops the frunk and roars and a werewolf figure lurches out at tricker-treaters-it’s sick. (Shhh-don’t tell anyone I let that slip)

I keep wishing I’d get an invite to SM design center but I suspect our hard core brutal honesty about design has them scared to hear all the things we might say 🤣
I only (partially) understand functional design. When it comes to aesthetic design, I haven’t got a clue. They definitely don’t want me in the design studio when they’re discussing aesthetics.

Honestly I just know what I like. That’s what’s important to me. Don’t get me wrong, I want you all to get what you want too, but if I don’t love the aesthetics I’m not buying it.

I just saw that Geely is planning to enter its company ECARX on the NASDAQ. So that the US owner ship grows an they will be able to start importing to the US.
ECARX is a software and tech company, not a carmaker. And it doesn't matter who owns a carmaker, it matters where the cars are made. Buicks and Lincolns made in China have import tariffs when sold here. Geely-owned Volvos and Polestar made in South Carolina avoid the tariffs (except for their imported parts).

I have so little interest in aesthetics that it would have to be supremely fugly for me not to buy it if it meets my needs. (To me that Crater is just terrible, but if it was the only thing that met my needs next time I need a vehicle, I’d buy it.)

It’s the functionality that matters to me. If I can’t do the things I need to do with the thing, I’m not interested, regardless of how pretty it is.

I’m just repeating what I watched and heard.

I have to have both which is why it’s taken me test driving nearly 20 cars to get here!
