Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Makes sense given it's an hour and a half from the factory and CLT is a major US airport with plenty of flights to Germany. The only question I have is whether they'll maintain the office in Tysons for the C suite (and 15m from VW and Audi corp offices) or will everyone move down to Charlotte?

IMO this isn't about media lying to us, it's about media desperate for clicks. Everything has to be described in the strongest possible terms to create shock and get people engaged. Only later in the article do you realize they're just crying wolf.

Example: I'm in the SF Bay Area where local news is making it sound like some major weather event is about to happen...

Ive been there! Its a beautiful city. Went to see the Coca Cola 600. Its like a smaller higher end version of NYC but alot of souther hospitality. An some good coffee places. With alot of tiny parks behind buildings, perfect for Scout Motors to have an HQ.

And one thing i do know is the Carolinas must be loving that Scout is coming into them.

Its like for a few years in a row, the NorthEast area of the US was making up increasingly aggressive names for winter storms. Like "Snowmaggeddon" and "Snowpocalypse". Its like "we get it guys, its the first time you've seen snow this season, and now everyone is freaking out.

That's the key these days, clicks make money, whether what is being reported on is 100% correct or if it's targeted correctly. Two examples from me recently from suggested items on facebook that I got that I clicked on wondering what was happening. I live in Lancaster, PA and got a news article after election day about some sort of tax bill referendum being rejected. I didn't recall seeing anything about this so clicked to read and it was about Lancaster, SC. Then a couple of days ago while I was in Charleston, SC and about to head back home, I got a suggest post from Lancaster police talking about road conditions and the first snow of the year. I knew it was cold but surprised it had snowed, then clicked on comments and realized this was from Lancaster, OH.

That's why I don't listen to the mainstream weather. I listen to my local radio station weatherman Dan Zarrow.

The Latest Inside Rivian’s $6 Billion Deal to Rewire Volkswagen’s Future

An update on the VW-Rivian Joint Venture on its first anniversary.

According to a German VW Group engineer I know who works at the Palo Alto office (and by that I mean Rivian's office in Palo Alto where all this is happening), VW has at least one VW, Audi, Porsche, Scout, and (I believe) Lamborghini model being worked on there. Brands like Seat and Skoda do not have a presence and will feed on the scraps later on for their own products.

Bare in mind when the article says "engineering prototypes" exist in Palo Alto they're likely talking about rigs like this, not actual vehicles. Would love to see the Scout rig...and yes Scout employees reading this I will clear my calendar to make the short drive up to the office and check it out.
