Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Well this doesn’t seem fair at all.

I hope they win, but all these states just want their bribes... er I mean "Lobbyist Contributions".

People are giving Tesla too much room to play around. We should start shrinking Teslas power. So what that they were the first major EV manufacturer. Grow a pair and let competition in.

Absolutely, both much better choices, if you are looking for something in that high of a price range.
I agree but I think the ‘I feel you’ is much more media based and intended for those wanting social media on wheels. I certainly don’t and will be curious how many tech moguls and social media influencers jump at it. Not expecting tons but hey-I see cyber trucks all over and they are butt ugly-at least the Honda/Sony mobile is pleasant and neutral to the eyes

Go get’m tiger. Maybe the big 3 EVs along with Lucid and the other start ups can just bury the state/federal courts with lawsuits and force SCADA to start bleeding money defending them all. Then when their pockets aren’t as deep the EV companies can get a word in edgewise and force some change

Hence the lawsuits

Relax lol. Because we all know by the comments on the Scout instagram comments that people say the same things about scout.

"looks like a rivian"
"Throw a v8 or i6 in it"
"This isn't a scout"
"My scout ii was the most manly suv, not this thing is ugly and look like theres no effort in it"

Pretty much a summerized version of comments on Scout Motors instagram page. I pretty sure people are just jealous of how nice the new Scouts look.

I think it’s people too afraid to tell their friends they are buying an EV. This may end up being one of the best SUV’s ever built at a great price and many will miss out simply due to the fear of bruising their own egos

There is some truth to this.

I expect a lot of people I used to wheel with in Toyotas are going to think I lost my mind by buying an EV.

Thats why harvester is an option. But to me it's still an EV, but just built with a built in generator.

I have friends that think I'm crazy for reserving the harvester alone.

A law that went into effect back in July of 2023 here in Florida was considered a direct threat to Tesla, which sells its cars online and through retail locations. However, lobbyists and lawmakers were able to work out a deal that allows new electric vehicle companies like Tesla, Rivian and Lucid to "hold a franchise dealer license for direct sales of EVs if they are not otherwise prohibited under federal law.” This sounds good. But that last statement I quoted from the now passed law seems troublesome.

The older I get the less I care what other people think.
Lots of people worry about what other people "think" (BUT the other people aren't really thinking people at all, and have no clear or original thoughts) LOL.

It’s just a little different when you were “The Toyota Guy” for over a decade. I was the president of the local club and organized local events. Wheeling trips, wrench days, volunteering at the Jamboree. Etc.

It was a big part of my life for a while and I made a lot of good friends through that hobby.

There is no doubt I am going to get some grief, but people that know me are going to have a hard time believing what they are seeing 😂

We can get you a "widdle wadder" for your Scout. :D

Does it make it any easier knowing that Toyota screwed themselves by bowing down to the O&G lobby in Japan, and basically giving up on innovation?

Amen. I’ve followed the sage advice of Charlie Puth-love me or hate me that’s just the way I am. 😀. I do me, other should do them and if it doesn’t directly impact I don’t care what others do. I care about people’s actions-not what they think, though I guess the two do interact and cross paths
