Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
"Bad news, everyone: The Volkswagen Group's Spanish performance brand Cupra was planning on hitting the United Stated market in 2030, but as of Tuesday, that’s no longer the case.

An explanation from Cupra was posted in an announcement about the company’s Q2 sales results. “However, given the ongoing challenges within the automotive industry and in light of evolving market dynamics, Cupra has strategically decided to postpone its planned entry into the U.S. market, originally scheduled for 2030.”

What are those specific challenges? Cupra doesn’t elaborate, but it’s no secret the back-and-forth Trump tariff situation has caused all sorts of uncertainty at automakers around the globe. It’s also key to note that Cupra uses the word “postpone,” not “cancel,” when referring to its future in the U.S. Sven Schuwirth, the executive VP for sales, marketing and aftersales at Seat, provided comment on the situation, too.

“We’re not stopping, just postponing our U.S. launch and will continue to monitor market developments in the coming years to determine the best timing and approach, aligned with the brand’s long-term vision,” Schuwirth said. “In the meantime, Cupra will build on the strong momentum it has achieved in existing key territories and will soon expand into new high-potential markets to broaden its global footprint.”"

Good we don't need them here... Anyways it was planned to happen in 2030. Trump won't be president then. It will be JD and Marco.

Preproduction already for the Afeela. I didn’t realize those were coming out so soon.

The vehicle comes in two trims: Origin: Starting at $89,900, available in 2027, with 19-inch wheels and black exterior & Signature: Starting at $102,900, available in 2026, with 21-inch wheels, rear-seat screens, and color options (white, Tidal Gray, black). They are entering a crowded luxury EV market. With only 300 miles of range they could be at a disadvantage. We shall see.

I knew they were really expensive. I just can’t spend that on a car.

I find that thinking short sighted-if BMW does the same you’ll have a lot less work and potentially lose your employment. If American is American then BMW is no different other than the couple SUVs they build here

Agree. That’s crazy for a car. Was listening to Dave Ramsey the other day because my wife is on an advanced effort to save more money and while we all know it-he said it out loud-you need four wheels and a steering wheel to control it but a base used sedan vs a luxury sedan is still the same thing-a deppreciating asset that gets you from point A to B

True. I told my husband I’m planning on my Scout lasting until someone takes my keys away. 😹
