Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Federal EV tax credit gone! Now EPA "California emission laws" going next. Seems the playing field is even now for EVs. If they are so clean, they should be selling like hot cakes now!

Even playing field in what way? We subsidze oil and gas and water and corn and on and on.

The vehicle comes in two trims: Origin: Starting at $89,900, available in 2027, with 19-inch wheels and black exterior & Signature: Starting at $102,900, available in 2026, with 21-inch wheels, rear-seat screens, and color options (white, Tidal Gray, black). They are entering a crowded luxury EV market. With only 300 miles of range they could be at a disadvantage. We shall see.
It’s hard to get excited about spending that kind of money on ‘just another car’.

Seems cheap. Lol

I would rather a Lucid or a i7 over this anyday.

🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨 maybe read it again before basically copying and pasting the same things about subsidies. When this was about the EPA removing the "California Emissions Regulations". And on how that is the replacement for the Tax credit being removed. Which that alone should make a push for more people to buy EVs since now cars don't need to meet regulations.

Because you also mentioned subsidies being gone in the same post. It's all good. :D

I can't blame VW for pausing with Cupra. They're just reading the room. Alpine did the same thing. They were going to enter the US market with EV's in 2027, but have decided to wait.

Just to prevent any confusion.

At this time the EPA has not changed any policies involving vehicle emissions.

They have proposed changes but havent acted on them yet.

California's emission regulation waivers will be tied up in court for years. The Supreme Court didnt allow California to dismiss a lawsuit from Valero, so its still moving through lower courts. The executive orders jeopardize The Endangerment Ruling, but nothing has changed yet.

There is enough misinformation in this world, and we dont need to be a part of that problem.
