Dynamic Power Management

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
The one use case I can think of is living in a multi-EV home.

If myself, the wife, and the kids have EVs the ability to charge them faster would be appealing for fast top offs since only one vehicle can be plugged in overnight per charger.
We had a multi-EV household for many years and having a single charger was never an issue, you just take turns during the week. These EVs will be long range and thus won't need charging every day, there will be plenty of time in a week to charge other vehicles. I charge my current EV about once a week, maybe twice, which means most of the time the charger is sitting there unused.

Not all chargers look dystopian, I like mine - kinda has an alien-tech vibe to it :) The Scout one looks like it has good cable management built in so that's great as it's important and one of the reasons I bought this one. Hopefully Scout builds theirs out of metal like Flo does, plastics here don't last too long out in the weather. My Flo G5 is cast aluminum and has been rock solid reliable for almost a decade now.:

I mean no disrespect, but this immediately came to mind when I saw your charger lol

Obviously function is important but I dig the vibe of the Scout one, and hope it supports V2X since both Scouts will support that.

By the way I love the Scout’s charger design. Has rugged vibes and looks a lot less dystopian than other chargers.
When I saw it at the reveal I wanted to strap in on my back like a jet pack 🤣. Totally hope they look like this because I will buy it for sure 😀

Yes I had 30 amps charging at my last house. Did it matter if I was charged by 2am vs 6am? Yea never.
Just 16A charger at my new house. No issues.

OK if you have a monster commute or charge at home to drive professionally it could be different.

For multiple vehicle homes with limited power I recommend the Tesla Wall connector. These create an independent wifi network and can be programmed to limit power individually and as a group. Splits power dynamically when the group is over limit and ramps up as vehicles finish and more power can go to the remaining vehicles. Up to six per network. No subscription.

Deleted because I’m dumb.
