I didn’t remember hearing able to fit 37s, but I certainly hope that’s the case. I was sure I’d be happy going from 33s to 35s on my current vehicle, but suddenly it doesn’t feel like enough.

If you happen to remember where that was mentioned could you share?
I feel like it was a verbal made at the reveal but it’s been 6 months so I may be wrong. I’m almost positive I heard it somewhere just forgetting who said it

Okay observation. In all the picture I saw of the Traveler I thought it was body color meets roof color. That’s not what I saw Saturday. I noticed it on the back quarter panel. So the windows have black frames. Then the very back window is tinted. Then beyond that there’s a strip of black between the body color and the roof color. And the strip of black carries around onto that little spoiler on the lift gate.

So my question for SM is am I correct? For example if I got a yellow Traveler would there be a black demarcation line so to speak between the body color and the roof color? So yellow body, black on windows/molding piece, then white roof.

This is a great question. Land Cruiser has this to seperate the roof lines. On another note, this image captures the flake and brings out the color.

I suspect this is designed this way to allow for the two paint colors without oodles of masking and multiple paint booth passes. But maybe I’m overthinking it and it’s for another reason. It is interesting though as I never picked up on that before

I was thinking they said 18’s with 33’s then 35’s and ability to do 37’s but SM never said if they would offer the 37’s or just set up for aftermarket with needing a lift or saw-zaw to fit the 37’s under the wheel arch
I believe I read something or saw a video clip about 37”s fitting by removing the fender liners.

Which would incredible if it’s true.

Its honestly a little embarrassing as to what lengths and parts are required to fit 35” tires on most Toyotas/Lexus’s.

Even stuffing 33”s without rubbing typically requires massaging fender liners with heat guns, suspension lift, pushing the front wheels forward with aftermarket upper control arms, and cutting the frame at the body mount and capping it with a plate you have to weld on. You also have to smash a pinch weld on the firewall with a sledge hammer.

Oh, and factor in dropping another $3k on new differential gears if you go beyond 33” tires to correct your final drive ratio.

Edit: Apparently Arctic Trucks is now offering a 37” tire kit for Lexus GX vehicles for $23k in the US.

If Scout manages to let you toss on 37”s by just removing a few screws and plastic liners I will be thoroughly impressed, though I’m curious how that will work with the optional air suspension package.

I’m a little skeptical though about those fitting, and look forward to Scout confirming what will be supported down the road and if warranty comes into play with bigger meats.

My previous vehicle had 34”s and the 3 vehicles before it all had 35” tires.

My current daily has 31” tires and they can get me up about 95% of the same obstacles I did on the bigger tires.

You only gain 1” of ground clearance moving from 35”s to 37”s and it usually costs thousands of dollars (and voiding your warranty in a big way) to do it right.

Im kind of at a weird crossroads in my life where I want the extra rubber for capability and looks, but my practical side wants smaller sizes for better efficiency and range.

It really was like being a kid on Christmas. I kept waking up looking at the clock going shoot it’s not time yet. I can’t wait till everyone on here has the same experience.

You will always remember the first time you saw the Scouts.

We were there for hours and the lighting changed. Went from bright to cloudy to rainy back to cloudy and then they closed one of the doors. So even if the pictures are similar the lighting was different. So I think he shot the vehicles pretty completely 3 different times.

Good morning! Okay someone asked about ease of sitting on the vehicle. There was one employee who was sitting in the frunk, but the thing you have to know about my husband is that he does not take pictures of people that aren’t our family if he can avoid it. Like will stand there staring off into space until they leave. I can’t tell you how long we have stood in front of that castle at Disneyland, but he has pictures with no one in front of it. All that to say he found one with her in the Terra frunk and then another with the lead exterior designer leaning over and pulling the tray out in the Traveler frunk. That’s all we have for height of the frunk that he can think of at the moment.
