Simple ask. One that is probably already on the list. But throwing it in here just to be clear.
Give us the ability to have visibility onto where the energy is being used in the vehicle.
It doesn't have to be a default view (can be hiding in something more advanced if needed), and it also doesn't have to be super incredibly detailed (I don't personally need individual pack/cell voltages/etc). I just want to be able to know where energy is being used in the vehicle. Both instantaneously, but also over the course of a drive, or maybe even trip.
Specifically, I want to see how much energy is being used to keep the battery at the correct temperature (heating, and cooling)
My Hyundai Ioniq 9 (BEV 3 row "SUV") is great, and tells us a lot about where the energy is going. But it doesn't tell us everything.
I can see how much is going to the drivetrain (how many KW the drivetrain is pulling, or regenerating), how much is spent on "electronics" (which I assume is stuff like the infotainment system, phone chargers, etc), and climate. It also has a section for "battery care", which is essentially for tracking how much energy is used for pre-conditioning before fast charging as far as I can tell so far (its only shown up in the charts if I manually turn on preconditioning).
Here is a screenshot of some random youtube video showing the same information I have on my Ioniq. The guy in the video is sitting recording a video while parked, so he's used only 4% energy on the drivetrain, while most of the rest of it is on "electronics" and climate (running the AC).
Lately the temps have been lower (33-50f), and my efficiency is dropping (predictably). But annoyingly, I can't actually "see" if the battery is being heated, and if that is contributing to my lower efficiency. And thats where this suggestion popped into my head. I'd love to know "exactly" where all the energy in the giant battery pack is going.
So again, I'd love a "wholistic view of where my electricity is going" sort of feature.
