Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Look to Volvo, their overseas delivery program is fantastic! great lifetime experience. https://www.volvocars.com/us/l/osd-tourist/
Almost did this. We looked at a Volvo convertible YEARS ago and had planned the overseas because there were a couple unique options too. Did a final test drive with top down and the wind made my driver side shoulder belt flap and it drove me nuts. We backed out and still remember the sales guy was cool because he was in the back watching it and actually said he was happy I didn’t go through with it ?

I imagine this would be just exciting for those who are involved as it would be those purchasing to see the reaction on the customers faces. Seems like those involved are very passionate about their product and would be gratifying moment to see those first orders being picked up.

I guess there's no good way to coordinate this because it will be based on when reservations were received, but I was thinking it might be fun if a group of us from the same region could do a group trip down to pick up our new Scouts. In my case, it would be the Northeast region.

We could then do a rolling caravan of Scouts back home on the highway. Probably turn a few heads at the sight of it.
What an idea. I’ll be making the drive in my 1970 800A to pick up my new Traveler at the factory and trailer my classic on home from the Bay Area.

And these just fell out but liked the old and new together
Thats pretty Cool.

Ford has been doing this a lot with new vehicle deliveries. When my wife received her 2022 Maverick she got a very nice Yeti Maverick water bottle that fits in the door the same color as the truck. They also gave her what they call a FITS package, which is a bunch of 3D printed accessories that plug in to the FITS receiver on the back of the center console.
  • Cup holder
  • Phone cord organizer
  • Bag hooks
  • Storage/Trash bin
  • Multiple dividers for the under-seat storage area.

Had another idea but will preface it for SM members only who take factory delivery. I’ll also say I’d probably pay for it. If there is a way to produce laser engraved (or similar) vanity plates, say one of the Scout colors with our Avatar name. Getting an email of my scout coming off the line with my name on it would be really unique. Or maybe when I arrive for the delivery experience the name is on it that way I can find mine right away. Imagine getting there with 5 or 7 other people and seeing who is who from the forum with your unique vanity plate.
I’d most likely take it off before I leave to save it (other who must have DOT front plates too) but what a cool way to be introduced to your Scout.
Maybe the names are done in a script similar to the Scout font ?.
Just an idea

And speaking of front license places. Please do not drill holes in the front bumper or put a license plate bracket on the front. I will run without a front plate as long as possible. The Supra is 2-1/2 and I have managed to avoid it so far. The plate is in the back of the car in case it’s needed. It also would be nice if they had something that attached to the front bumper to hold a plate that didn’t require drilling holes into the bumper. We have a bracket for the Supra that attaches to the tow recovery point. That’s in the back with the plate. Ha!

Teslas in NJ get away with out any license plates, so I might skip the front license plate. I do also run my BMW with out a plate, and My countryman does have a tow point side mounted plate.

Found this today looking for some drawings. Got this as part of Bronco order experience. SM can do better I’m sure but I always thought this was cool
I stashed away everything that Ford sent during the interminably-long wait for production/delivery. Drawings, flag, playing cards, desk calendar, etc, etc. As Ford kept stating, they wanted to make sure we "stay pumped" I'll probably include all that stuff if/when I sell.

So hoping this becomes a thing. I'm another in Upstate SC and this would be a nice way to get to know the new vehicle. With the cost of cars going up and up, it's value added perks like this that make it feel worth it.
The only way this becomes a reality is if the SC legislature feels enough pressure from their constituents to pass the bill H.3777 which seems unlikely this legislative session. That bill would change SC law to allow direct to consumer vehicle sales, which are currently prohibited. If you read through the various threads on the forum about the bill, there is alot of good information about it and why it is so critical to Scout Motors plan to offer DTC sales and factory deliveries.

We need all SC residents reading this to call your legislators and urge them to pass the bill. Emails are good too, but my understanding is that phone calls are more impactfull when legislators are weighing which way to vote on a bill.
