All EV/BEV needs its own name!

I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of adding any extra naming and I'm leaning toward the side of keeping it simple. Without the "Harvester", you either have a Traveller or a Terra, and that may be enough.

I was thinking that maybe a play on Electrall to "ElecTrail" or something could work, but I just don't think it is really needed. Some details in the names (colors, letters, accents) could allude to the fact that it is all-electric, or add an "E" after the name as part of one badge maybe.

This is pretty much where I ended up on this.

I think it makes more sense for legacy automakers to add an EV designation to model names, especially if they make that model in both ICE and EV variants. Examples of this would be the Ford F150 and F150 Lightning, or the Chevy Blazer and Blazer EV.

However, in the case of Scout Motors, they planned to be an EV maker from day 1 and the Harvester was the special submodel, not the other way around. Like how Rivian, Lucid, or Tesla just give their models regular names without a special designation that they are EVs, because it's known from the start that they are EV makers.

I must admit it was fun to think about names for the Scout BEVs, and I really liked the Electrall tie-in to IH history, but ultimately I think it's just not necessary. Also, it may already be too late. That ship may have already sailed. If SM was planning to have a designation for the BEVs they likely would have introduced it at the reveal event last year when they introduced the Harvester.

Yes, I brought it up mostly for fun. But, you never know. Also, enthusiasts often assign unofficial names.

If you want to be weird and burn fossils for some reason like a cave man then they have a special "Harvester" version for you.

I’m now in the camp that the Es in the name Traveler and Terra are blue and that’s it. I don’t even think I want trim level names on the vehicle. Just let the features of the vehicle speak for itself.

How about a very subtle blue outline. The less blue the better. Just a enough so people see it and realize it

That’s what Jeep does for the Wrangler 4xe. As much as I love Jeeps I want the Scout to be different.

100% agree. I hope the letters BEV don’t appear. Just a simple name and maybe a fine blue edge on the first ‘e’ in each name?

it was worth the effort though. When first mentioned I was like -yeah-but maybe if a killer name had been suggested I might have changed my mind. Seems like all the good electrical names are already used by other manufacturers

I like that name for a black out package and keep Reaper as the high performance because I SO want to see a Grimm reaper badge on a Scout . Is t that the name of the skunkworks jet from top gun maverick?

THIS. The default is BEV. Terra and Traveler alone mean BEV. Harvester is a trim package that adds an ICE and would be called Terra Harvester and Traveler Harvester.

I like skipping any BEV badges because if an EV hater pulls up behind a Scout and loves it they’ll search internet but if badges scream EV they may just disregard the Scout all together because they HATE electric
