Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
...I'm not sure if you're trying to conclude the ailments of the parent will have no impact on the subsidiary but if so that's on you...
Nothing is "on me" - I'm not VW. I have a fully refundable reservation while I wait to see production specs and what the future might hold hold. I have little to no faith in the big 3 to develop anything half as compelling, so I' here with my bag of popcorn, taking it all in. I'm hopeful that Scout can pull this off and that they come through with a really compelling truck and SUV.

We can all read your posts that seemingly cast negative aspersions at Scout and appear intentionally designed to instill fear, uncertainty and doubt about whether Scout be forced to "pull the plug" or have the project "tabled" (your words).

I'm guessing you don't have a reservation? So nothing "on you" other than perhaps some ulterior motive based on your FUD posts.

If you were sitting across the table from me, I would personally bet my $100 reservation that Scout will launch, and that we will see something that actually is compelling - much more compelling than the ICE trucks and SUV's we see today. 🍺

Cool idea. More natural sounds would be great. Or Metallica, or Chris Cornell-I’d be down with those options
These are options I can fully endorse. 🤘

There's way too much evidence of Germany's influence in the factory and vehicles for me to believe they're truly independent, but I really don't know where that line is. I think the vehicle design and decisions are pretty independent from VW, but they've also got a lot more access to VW connections, parts bins and tech than any independent company ever would. I'm sure the VW dealers' lawyers are putting this same info together as we type. I'm worried that all of the Scout-to-Germany connections I see will be used against Scout in court, bolstering the dealers' argument that Scout isn't truly independent and that they should be able to sell Scouts.
There is the key phrase-Scout to Germany. VW USA is part of VWUSA. Scout thus far has not stated that. It’s a fine line but it’s a legal line

sorry gramps 🤪 I’ll try again- when there’s a claim of ‘technical issues’ I appreciate and understand it is challenging to develop and produce a vehicle essentially from scratch and would be surprised there weren’t delays…a press release that adds ‘existing financial obligations’ as a reason for delays is troubling to me, especially from a parent company that recently shut production on another vehicle…
Shutting down a vehicle is one thing. Being well over $2 billion in investment on US soil is a different kind of commitment

Just spitballing here, but if it was that dire why would they have a F1 team on the grid this year? Do you know how much that costs?!?
I think people arguing about failure aren’t reading all points of view. They just invested millions in Charlotte too and are just filling spaces so if finances were an issue I don’t think they would’ve pulled that trigger

…for a bit of perspective VW Group had well over 200 billion euro in revenue in 2024. Their stake in the F1 team is not fully undisclosed but likely less than 1 billion. So, not a deal breaker. Porshce profits tanking, sluggish EV growth, other manufacturers…eh, pulling the plug on some of their ev programs…that’s the kind of data that leads to tabling new proj
Why so grim today? Wrong side of the bed?

I don't think VAG can compete with Byd on EVs, and with Byd moving into Europe more, VW will have a rough go of it. The US EV landscape isn't pretty, but at least the legacy automaker lobbying is keeping China out for now. @cyure is right though in that the shared vehicle archtitecture between EV and EREV versions will likely allow production of EVs to continue, despite seemingly low demand. With a production capacity of 200k vehicles annually, the 13% EV-only figure means only 26k combined Terra and Traveler units each year. Not a lot, but still profitable if they implement them cleanly. Sharing the assembly line with Audi will likely reduce all numbers a bit once at full capacity, but we'll have to have faith and patience as someone around here says... :ROFLMAO:
Logically spoken

My parents cabins feature this alarm clock as well :D.

Also, one time in high school, I went to go camping with a buddy, and the camping areas we went to were all full (I know we hit Christopher creek campground up past Payson, but can't remember the others we went to). But it was at this point like 10pm, and we were driving around trying to find a place to camp (in my fathers wrangler with half doors/the top down).

We found some random forest road, and after a little bit it opened up into a big meadow, that was at least a few hundred yards long. And right as we came out into this meadow (in the moonlight), we saw that we had just disturbing a large herd of elk that had bedded down there that night.

So we pop into this meadow, splitting this herd of elk (they were on both sides of us), who slowly stood up, and started slowly trotting along with us in the direction of travel.

We were maintaining a constant speed/direction (maybe 10-15mph tops), and the elk were close, but not "that" close (maybe 30yds or so). But we ended up driving the same direction as the herd, at the same time, and speed as the herd, for what felt like 1/4 of a mile (at least a minute or few). It truly felt like we were "one of the herd" for a moment, as we had elk on both sides of us, and no barriers/windows between us either. It was super magical.
Very cool experience

…that’s funny- being realistic on a fan forum isn’t the best idea I see, but I read the AP today and listened to the earnings call- there are some ‘grim’ numbers. My biggest concern is it looks to be something broader than just temporary setbacks..

As I’ve aged I tend to ignore the news more and more, it makes me cranky (I’m 45 years old and I sound like my 75 year old father…). Anywho, back in October of 2024 I took a leap of faith and threw $100 in a reservation betting that Scout would build something special. If the world falls apart tomorrow and Scout shuts down, I’m out $100 but I was part of a cool dream and a cool forum. I’d suggest everyone take a deep breath and relax. I’d guess it’s late 2027 or early 2028 before anybody sees a Scout in their driveway. As of today, I still have faith in Scout.

Great outlook and similar to mind. I’ve gotten 3 years of entertainment and a trip to the reveal for a $100 fee. It’s been an experience of a lifetime and worth every penny

I’ll say this trying not to be political but my wife is in finance and banking and from a strictly business point of view-our country is in the same boat and seems like half the country is still seeing business as “good” so I guess it comes down to what you believe and what you know. Things could get even worse by end of week and it will be what it will be but until then I’m staying on the camp positive side of the lake
