Snowstorm 2026

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

The snow started Sunday morning and continued all day and all night into Monday.

We ended up with around 16" with deeper drifts in some areas.

The Scout was pretty well buried.

After some shoveling and snowblowing, it was ready for action.

Made short work of the driveway and upper parking area, then parked again ready for the next one. It's a little interesting without any brakes but it keeps me on my toes.

16”. Wow. The no door still cracks me up! Glad your Scout was used for its intended purpose

The thing kept going last night, so heading out now to snow blow (again on day 3).

There's ~ 2 feet of snow here now, so legit storm for sure...

I sucked a kids mitten into my snow blower last night. It was partially shredded and it was jammed into the impeller. Worst job I think I have ever down getting it cut out. Literally, total disaster... I have sucked in newspapers from the driveway and blow downs from trees (and sheared cotter pins), but this mitten incident was the worst. I would not wish this on my worst enemy - ridiculous.

Ugh, the mitten incident does not sound fun.

We ended up with around 16 inches, would have been more if it didn't change over and turn into ice.

Which also made me realize I am absolutely hoping the Traveler will allow me to install a plow on the front! We have a long ass driveway and the snowblower does mostly a good job, but my back keeps yelling at me "im too old for this!!!"

Love see the old scout in full work mode. 8-day a week vehicle 😀

Sucks. I took out a buried X-mas flood light on Sunday. That makes a hell of a racket 🤣

We got 16" from drifts and 9" where it wasn't drifting. Very angry ocean. Next storm is heading in this weekend. Possible nor'easter. So this will be fun for me, they are telling us about 24+. This storm alone has shut down the town. Everyone is in their homes and clearing their driveways. And roads are empty, and some roads aren't even plowed yet.

We landed at 8-9 but ice compressed. Next storm is this weekend. The one group my wife follows and the models they use are saying up to 20”. They are pretty accurate so I’ll be curious what this weekend turns into
The ice is horrendous by me. Every parking lot has about 1/4"+ of ice. And we are able to walk on top of snow because of the ice layer.

I was looking Sunday night and we were forecasted for 40! Now its back down to "maybe a dusting"

We got ~6" here in NE Oklahoma. Luckily it stayed really cold so no ice. It's rare to get more than a dusting here so everything has shut down for the past 2 days. Kids may go back to school tomorrow.

We don't get enough snow to have a plow so yesterday I taught my son how to use the loader bucket to drag snow. It's not pretty but gets the bulk out of the way so the cars can get through. And yes, after it thaws I'll get to teach him how to use the box blade to fix the gouges me made in the gravel from the bucket

Is there really another one coming? My forecast shows nothing until next Tuesday and that is forecast to be rain (temps in the 40s).

I know this might sound weird.

But I'm low key bummed we haven't had anything. So, just stepping in to say I love all the photos. I'm a snow person by heart, but haven't really lived in it for much of my life.

But of course, stay safe/warm everyone.

(I'm in the PNW, and we've had a warm, and dry winter so far, despite the historic flooding that happened a month or so ago... the root cause for that was it was too warm in the mountains, so it came as rain, instead of snow, hence floods).

Our first winter as California transplants to Illinois we were so excited for the snow. Now not so much. 😹

Maybe thats why I still like it, I haven't really ever "lived" in it for long :D.

I was in Denver in 2007(?) when they got 35-42in in ~36hrs, and freaking loved it. And a few years back my father wanted to get snowed in at his family cabin. So a brother-in law and I went to go with him, and got 2-3ft over the course of 2 days or so.

At this point I'm happy that I live close enough to it that I can go get to it when I want it (last winter I finally got to sleep in my first snow cave I dug).

But it does look like our traditional snowshoeing trip will likely have to be canceled, unless something dramatic changes here sometime soon.

Again, good luck out there everyone. Enjoy some of those magical moments for me ;).
