Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

The interesting bit about this poll, I think, is that 82.5% of the people responding have reserved the Harvester. That pretty much matches Scout's numbers that they have talked about. I find it interesting because many people on here seem to prefer BEV (like me) but have reserved and are intending on buying a Harvester (like me). I wonder if some of those numbers are skewed by the fact that the Harvester is going to be released first.

And I’m still curious how many people switch to BEV if the gas prices continue to stay as high as they are.

May be a bit of the chicken and the egg situation with Harvester vs BEV. I'm sure they had no intentions one way or the other before announcement on which would get a little more focus at the beginning until the Harvester reservations were overwhelming.

I reserved the Traveler Harvester. I commute 35 miles one way to work and I need 4 wheel drive in the Winter. This will be perfect for me since I should be able to drive most days without needing gas. But I also have days where I am at work for over 24 hours and I don't have a place to plug in, so having the ability to charge the battery with the 4 cylinder motor is great for me.

Welcome to the community!

Thanks! I can't wait to see pictures of everyone's rig when we eventually get them.
Me too.

Couple tips around these parts. There’s tons of info. The search button (magnifying glass upper right corner) is very helpful. A couple great follows are @Jamie@ScoutMotors and @CP1@scoutmotors they keep us updated from the manufacturer side and announce where and when the concepts will be on display.

Enjoy. We have a pretty great community and lots of information.

When you say no place to charge-do you mean at work or at home?

Ok. You should still have plenty even with a BEV. We’ve been trickle charging at home and you could likely gain 25 miles or so from after work until next round of work even if 24 hour shift of time. At 70 miles round trip and presuming real world range of 300 miles per full charge and say 2 maybe 3 nights of trickle with 25 mile range gain you would have plenty of juice for the weekly commutes. And with a level 2 charger you’d do even better. 5x70 miles is 350 and with 75 mile gain on 3 trickle charges you’d only use 350 miles but have 375 miles available. Just putting that out there as something to consider.
I thought maybe you couldn’t charge at home-that’s why I asked.
