Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I keep thinking that but then I realize they need employees too then the charge cost gets higher. To date we’ve been able to find a snake/food/potty source in less that a 20 minute walk so til you do that stuff, pay and return car is charged and you’ve gotten a stretch/break in from driving since it is mainly typical of a long drive scenario
The Ionna Rechargery that I mentioned earlier in Irmo, SC is conveniently located right off the interstate and just across the parking lot is a Starbucks and a deli. The Ionna stations aren't covered here (just to the right of the Circle K gas station), but again it's all about location, location. I think the way Ionna works is it is associated with a neighboring business. Like the business purchase as a franchise. I think in this case it is Circle K. I looked on the Ionna website a while back to see if they sold franchises...interesting read.

I’ll need to dig. Makes a lot of sense. I’ve rambled on here for a few years now that Cracker Barrel should add them. There’s one of those every third exit on 95 all up/down the east coast

Actually, in my frequented areas, Tesla has several superchargers adjacent to Cracker Barrels. I would much rather those be Ionna.

Lexus now has the TZ, 3-row up for pricing and building. Attaching pics. While not off-road oriented it max’s out in the mid $80’s which gives me hope for the launch scouts. I like the orange-copper color and the roller dial is a nice touch along with what looks like haptic style controls on the door shoulders

That does increase my hopes for the price of our Scouts!

When the TZ was announced, it was supposed to have 402 horsepower. Now it has 308 hp. However, the 402 hp is now available as a dealer-installed upgrade, and only on the top trim. Annoying.

The biggest issue is it doesn't have an 800v battery. Without that, you're not going to get the fastest charging. However, if you plan to only charge at home, I suppose it doesn't matter. I believe this is how they can manage a lower sticker price.

I definitely want my Scout to have 800v battery.

Have to agree. I don’t think Lexus has the best EV set up but my wife likes her RZ so that helps bring her to the bright side of a Scout BEV

I get it. Since I bought my EV earlier this year, my wife has been looking for her own. She wouldn't really ever need to charge at a public charger. Right now, it appears that EV inventories are slim pickings.

BMW is hitting it out of the park with their latest I-series. I know the styling isn't everyone's cup o' tea, but the new i3 reminds me of the shark nose BMWs which were one of my favorites. If I were in the market for a luxury sedan, the i3 would be top of the list for me.

And now I officially never want to hear that EV sales are low because of high prices it’s BS.
The thing that shocked me most about the new 3-Series? No diesel engines anywhere in the world! This would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. Hybrids and EVs are crushing diesel sales in Europe.
