From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Out of curiosity-why not? If there is a special launch version why not a special paint. Once launch vehicles are sold, theoretically you can’t ever do another launch series until maybe second generation. Still think they should offer most or all the other colors but why not a pumpkin spice or twilight lavender. Not everyone will like it and can select red, blue, etc… but a single unique color would make it a very unique opportunity for those wanting something different. Sorta sounds like that is what that Genesis is doing with the interior.
I’ve been thinking about this. I guess my concern is that there are 4 models essentially. So are we talking one launch edition with that color for only the first iteration released. Or would the next iterations get a launch edition in that color too? Like let’s say that’s someone preferred color and they are a Terra reservation holder, would they get that color as an option when the Terra launches?
Good question? I do think if done, the color should be a vote color and maybe it’s different between traveler launch and terra launch as one color may look better on traveler and not as good on terra?
And then how would orders be handled? Would it be who reserved first gets first dibs? Would it be who clicks order first? If someone made their reservation later would they have no chance to get a launch edition?
And what if I want the other features on the launch edition, but I don’t like the color? Then what??
Fair questions but I suspect it’s not much different than others. I won’t buy a red, black or forest green SUV so if those happen to be initial run colors I wouldn’t pick those. Presume same mindset comes along with a unique color. If launch was PBY you’d claw over everyone to get one but guessing 80% of other buyers probably have no interest in PBY (hard to believe-I know as I’ve been pale yellow from day one). There will always be a favorite color. As to ordering-I’d say it’s by reservation-same as most launch vehicles. If you offer 2000 in one off color and presume only a small portion loves it it becomes uniquely special. You also do t have dealers who would hoard them just to flip them 10 years later as a collector vehicle. But many would pass on that color to pick their favorite. And then there’s always custom paint colors or unique wrap colors as options in which buyers may want to just go base white?
I think Rivian did a good job with their launch editions. The package was a decent deal if you wanted most of the stuff offered in it, and it gave you the option to select the limited green color if you coughed up a little extra cash, otherwise, you just select your desired color.
