What is the growing list of outrage these days? Curious about the local tea? It’s coming along nicely. Locally there has been outrage and concern from locals regarding the environmental impact. Can you share what, is being done to mitigate concerns?

I think this is old news. There were issues with wetlands impact and local rivers. However, Richland County was ultimately responsible for preparing and managing. What is the growing list of outrage these days? Curious about the local tea?
Agree but figure if someone is going to post to the forum asking how to address concerns they should quote or list specifics otherwise this becomes like every other article where assumptions and AI just make for attention getting. And yes- majority of the environmental was the county level but having SM name on the project washes back over them so just think if people want to ask for answers they should ask more specific questions. Just like this elderly couple sueing-the way SC DEP was hawking down on the project I would think if a home owner did have issues related to environmental oversights they be on this by now as wellI think this is old news. I appreciate your “figuring,” but what you’ve decided is my burden to address is, quite simply, not. The concerns surrounding this project are not suddenly “old news” because they’ve been raised before. They remain relevant because the project remains relevant—and the potential environmental impact certainly doesn’t come with an expiration date.
As for the “growing list of outrage these days,” I’ll leave the investigative work to you. There are, after all, plenty of local news outlets and community groups where you can satisfy your curiosity.
And finally, when I have a question for Scout regarding Scout’s project, I’ll direct that question to Scout. I don’t particularly need a non-Scout, non-local observer to explain which questions I should ask, how I should ask them, or whether they meet your preferred standard of specificity.
I’m quite comfortable asking the questions I believe are worth asking.
You’re certainly free to disagree. You’re just not required to answer them.
Well Mr. H, I know you’re still counting your winnings from the last guess/poll; but if you’re starting a new one for the first end-to-end build rolling out of the factory…@Jamie@ScoutMotors what month does it look like validation models will be getting built? Give us rough estimates
My guess is December 2026. It’s gonna be in the happy holiday video with Uncle ScottyWell Mr. H, I know you’re still counting your winnings from the last guess/poll; but if you’re starting a new one for the first end-to-end build rolling out of the factory…
My money is on March 2027
In my opinion I feel like SM getting directly involved with the county responsibilities could have resulted in them being partially culpable going forward. I would expect SM to remain silent on the issue. However, SM does have responsibility of environmental stewardship. It goes without saying that a project this large will have an environmental impact now and in the future. During the Blythewood event in April, there was a presentation on what SM is doing for environmental stewardship. I can't remember the staff member's name nor can I remember exactly all the things they were addressing, but based on the information presented, I feel like they were taking it seriously. There may be a video of the whole Blythewood presentation somewhere that would detail their direction. It’s coming along nicely. With pending lawsuits, Scout will definitely stay mum for a bit. I don't know at what point the site gets handed over to them, but I would assume when the certificate of occupancy is issued (though it might just be at the end of the site work where the county/state has fulfilled their contract). After that, I suspect you'll see more proactive steps being taken related to the site. I'm assuming the environmental stewardship thing was a lot more involved than just site-related issues. Sustainably-sourced materials, eco-friendly whatever, that kind of stuff. In my opinion I feel like SM getting directly involved with the county responsibilities could have resulted in them being partially culpable going forward. I remember the days when you sounded less like a legal team was watching over your posts...Early testing of production systems is ongoing and will continue from here through preproduction and production. Things will only get better from here on out.![]()

That said, I love that you're here and giving updates at all!! Plenty of us here geek out over any info you give, so don't be afraid to mention what kind of testing is happening.
We love you guys! I know you're only allowed to release so much info, so thanks for these little tidbits.I try not to sound like a legal team as much as possible.
What we internally call certain phases of our project is an alphabet soup of codes and words and wouldn't make much sense to most people. I try and break down the more realistic pieces best I can. The fact that we are stamping Scout sheet metal means we will have test mules out there that look like Scouts and not some Mad Max creation.

I think you just made Timmy’s day. And we seem to call him Timmy-is that appropriate name or just evolved from his forum avatar name? Realized maybe we just made assumptions somewhere along the way?Yep. Early body panels are starting to filter in.
