From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.
Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

John here in South Florida. Super excited to learn more about Scout and their offerings. Have a Subaru Solterra BEV And Tacoma Truck and just absolutely LOVE the Terra concept after having both a truck and EV. Put my reservation in for the battery/harvester combo. While I love my BEV living in Florida with hurricaines knocking out power for weeks on end it’s hard to charge a BEV only car. The harvester generator just makes it so much better in my situation. Super excited to go on this journey and learn all I can about these vehicles.

Welcome to the community! There’s tons of info here. The search function is very helpful. Additionally, a couple great follows are @Jamie@ScoutMotors and @CP1@scoutmotors. They keep us updated from the manufacturer side of things and let us know when they are going to be on display. Have fun and welcome again!

Hi everyone. Brian checking in from NoVA. I’m very excited to learn more about Scout Motors and the vehicles that are coming soon. In the past 4 years I’ve owned a Jeep Gladiator Mojave that I traded in for a Ford Lightning (family got bigger, we needed more space). So when I heard and saw the vehicles from Scout I just had to reserve the BEV Terra. It’s giving me the off road experience that I miss with my Jeep with the power and efficiency of my lightning. I’m leasing the lightning until 28 which is really good timing all things considered. Excited to be here and learn from all of you.

Welcome to the community. There is a very passionate group of BEV Terra reservation holders and some Lightning owners as well. You are in good company. Welcome again!

I was in the same mindset as you, but I went with a Rivian R1T instead of the lightning. However, having had a F-150 prior I really wouldn't mind having that amount of cab space again and being back in a full size truck. The Rivian is incredible off-road and fantastic on road I just will it was a little bigger, but with Scout's bench seat it will meet pretty much all of my needs and will be sticking with BEV as well.

Hello everyone! I am checking in from NC. Can't wait to see these things in real life. I have always loved Scouts and came very close to buying a few over the years. My choice would be an old Traveler for the extra space, if only they still made soft tops for them. Love the way the new Traveler looks and that's probably my choice at the moment, but also have some interest in the Terra if the towing pans out.
Welcome! Being that you're in the same state as the plant I'm guessing you'll have several more opportunities to see them... (they were just there for 3 days)
That's the hope. I'm just outside of Charlotte, so it will be an easy drive to the plant or corporate depending on where they display or offer early looks

Not exactly the same state as the plant but close enough that we will claim you!
Headquarters in Charlotte, NC ... Plant in Blythewood, SC but you're in the Carolinas so that counts. I hate that you didn't join the forum a couple of weeks ago. You just missed 3 showing opportunities in and around Columbia. The opening of the Blythewood Training Center was awesome with both the Terra and Traveler concepts. Check out this thread.
In addition there were some older Scouts on display. There was a 74 Scout II with a soft top. I was interested in getting a soft top for my 79 Scout II so I snapped a photo to look into it. You may find the soft top you are looking for.
Hopefully, the Scouts will come home again. I would definitely go see them again.
And welcome to the community. Its full of facts, fun and quite a bit of craziness. (It won't be long before you know what PBY stands for and it is not Peanut Butter Yellow
