What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Third row, 2 door, removable roof are all concepts that have traction on the forum. Not sure if removable doors has been mentioned - but to me it goes hand and hand with a removable roof.

third row foldaway jump seats, cab camera with top of rear liftgate POV.
I wonder if aftermarket jump seats will come along. I’m pretty sure to date the responses to any rear third row seating seem to be a no. I wonder if crash test ratings prevent jump seats and wonder if aftermarket can offer that or if they need to meet crash test ratings as well. Morally I’m sure it should but legally do aftermarket items need to comply?

Sliding center display that can be moved from passenger area to center area and lock into place on either end. Useful spaces behind default center position.

I'd still like an altimeter. My old MINI had one, and I found it surprisingly useful for managing my efficiency. Some routes seem flat, but they're really just a long incline or decline. I'm sure it was just a GPS altimeter, so not the most accurate, but it aligned well with topo maps and roadside elevation signs. Since we'll have GPS built-in to the Scout anyway, I assume it'd be an easy software output.

I was the same so I went and test drove a Wrangler with their one touch roof. It seems very similar. I love it when it’s open but do not like it all when it’s closed and here in Illinois I would have to have it closed half the year. I like the inside to feel open and see the sky all the time. So it’s glass for me.
My only issue with most glass tops (like teslas) is from the drivers seat you really can’t see it. So I am hoping for the full open air experience similar to my Wrangler with a cabana top on the Terra

If the cabana sadly doesn’t make it to production I will be opting for the glass roof

Exactly. I have a ClearLidz on my Wrangler so it’s clear from the windshield to behind my head. I want to enjoy the sky, not just my backseat passengers.

Given the current design of the concepts, I am sure this won't be the case, but it would be really nice to have separated Amber turn signals on the rear instead of the brake/taillight acting as a turn signal
Please, YES. I abhor red turn signals from a safety perspective, but as usual, the American auto industry is behind the rest of the world in automotive lighting standards.

I’ll argue against this again. When you see them in person and the idea of the light wrapping the corner is killer. If they can pull off a small amber signal that is separate and looks good that would be ok but the red must be red through the corner. Just like front needs to stay white and use an amber bulb so the clear/white wraps the front corner. In person it is probably the coolest detail and it sets the equator line so it needs to be a strong element

The problem with separate amber turn signals is the implementation. I’ve seen cars with good visible ambers, and cars with almost invisible amber turn signals. It seems that ambers buried in the red do not stand out on the street.

I agree that the corner light should stay red and follow through onto the rear gate. But the thing I have a problem with is how many vehicles. My current one included have a tail light that is also a brake light and is also a turn signal. It's pulling triple duty in at a certain point. It starts to get really unsafe. I'm sure scout can probably figure something out between now and the final design being shown. Who knows. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but it would be cool if they could pull something off like what rivian has done where you can also use it as a traffic advisor.

So I would say for now with what little time I've had to put any real thought into it with the things we have been shown. The light that is hidden under the black plastic that illuminates around the rear of the vehicle on the upper sides and maybe even through the gate itself could change to illuminate yellow/amber when the signal is active and only through the entire gate if they're willing to do a traffic advisor style system similar to what rivian has done.

I will also apologize if this doesn't make any sense. I am using text-to-speech from Gemini and I don't have time to proofread at the moment but when I get home tonight I will read back through and double check everything makes sense
Makes sense. Maybe a matrix/Audi style that is sequenced to get attention. I have no issue with the all red but I’m not set in stone either way so long as it looks good on final vehicle and the vehicle stays simple. The simplicity is what makes the scouts SO appealing. Minimalist Design

Alternatively I offer this very rushed phone edit of an idea, make them centers of the line clear and light up with amber when signaling
